In 2013 the Rajk László College of Advanced Studies honored Esther Duflo with the John von Neumann Award. We would like to invite you to the Award Ceremony and the public lecture held by Esther Duflo: “Poverty Alleviation - Step by step”.

Esther Duflo is the Professor of Poverty Alleviation and Development Economics at MIT since 1999. She is also a founder and director of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL). Her research focuses on microeconomic issues in developing countries, including household behavior, education, access to finance, health and policy evaluation. She has been a driving force in advancing field experiments as an important methodology to discover causal relationships in economics.
