The Faculty provides high-profile economics education for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students. Due to the Bologna process, Corvinus University of Budapest has moved away from its previous practice of five-year long university education (combining both undergraduate and graduate education) and is now heading towards separate BA and MA programmes. Degree programmes are offered mainly in Hungarian at the Faculty, but there are some programmes in English as well.
The Faculty also participates in two BA programmes BA in Business and Management and BA in International Business that are coordinated jointly by the Business Administration Faculty and the ISP. The role of the Faculty of Economics in this case is to offer core and elective courses in economic theory, statistics and mathematics.
From September 2008, our own master's programme started, namely MA in International Economy and Business with a specialisation in International Economics or European Studies. The MA in International Economy and Business taught also in English. This programme has been accredited and officially recognised by the Hungarian Accreditation Committee and the Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Education.
From 2011 we will launch a new MA programme in the field of Public Policy and Management. The aim of this programme is to train graduates who can apply their practical and theoretical knowledge in economics, social sciences, management, and law to solve and analyze issues in public policy and state administration.
We also offer a two-year programme called International Master in Economy, State & Society (IMESS), which, when completed by the prospective student, will lead to a double degree with the University College London, in the UK.
