The Corvinus Doctoral Schools (CDI) is the coordinating body for the four doctoral schools at Corvinus University of Budapest. Established by the University Senate in 2017, the CDI’s primary mission is to manage the unified administration of doctoral (PhD) education, monitor quality assurance, coordinate educational innovations, and foster synergies between the individual doctoral schools.
The effectiveness of doctoral education at Corvinus lies in the close collaboration between three key bodies: the Corvinus Doctoral Schools (CDI), the University Doctoral Council (EDT), and the University Doctoral Office (EDI).
The CDI staff is dedicated to supporting our doctoral students throughout their journey, ensuring they successfully earn their PhD degrees. Our goal is to equip our researchers with competitive expertise, enabling them to become influential members of both the national and international scientific communities.

Your data will be recorded in the Neptun system by the staff of the University Doctoral Office. During this stage, they will verify your academic qualifications; you must present the original official documents or provide certified copies.
Following enrolment, you must register for your courses (compulsory, compulsory elective, and optional) via Neptun, in accordance with your specific program of study. The secretarial assistants of the doctoral schools are available to provide guidance if needed.
Your supervisor will play a key role throughout your doctoral journey. While potential supervisors are typically identified during the admission process in most doctoral schools, the final appointment is confirmed by the Doctoral School Council. It is highly recommended to establish an intensive working relationship with your supervisor from the very beginning.
Students can spend one or two semesters at a partner institution abroad, where they can complete courses for credit.
Doctoral students may carry out research abroad with international partners for several weeks or even several months.
Short-term international study programmes, workshops and summer schools for students, lasting from a few days to several weeks.
The Corvinus University Student Union of Doctoral Students (DÖK) was established in 2019. Its primary mission is to provide authentic and effective representation for doctoral students, in accordance with the provisions of the National Higher Education Act.
The DÖK plays an active role in the university’s key decision-making bodies—including the Senate, the University Doctoral Council, the Doctoral Cabinet, and the individual Doctoral School Councils. Thanks to years of constructive cooperation, the organization directly integrates student perspectives into university decisions.
To ensure effective operations, the DÖK works in close partnership with the Association of Hungarian PhD and DLA Students (DOSZ) and the Corvinus Student Union (HÖK).
