Our doctoral programme is grounded in a multidisciplinary approach to the study of international politics and security. It serves as a key platform for rigorous scholarly engagement with contemporary and emerging challenges in the field. Our mission is to educate and mentor the next generation of domestic and regional academics and professionals in international relations.
Many of Hungary’s most distinguished scholars and practitioners of international relations earned their doctoral degrees within our programme, and numerous alumni have gone on to pursue successful international careers. Our instructors and supervisors represent all major disciplinary areas of international relations, offering comprehensive academic guidance across the following fields and their intersections:
Our programme welcomes talented individuals pursuing an academic career, as well as professionals from public administration (including diplomacy) and the corporate sector. We support participants in translating accumulated practical experience into rigorous theoretical insight, grounded in contemporary scientific and methodological approaches.

Scoring is based on the submitted application materials and the oral interview. The final admission decision is made by the University Doctoral Council in May.
