The aim of the programme is to enable as many outstanding doctoral students as possible to take advantage of this opportunity and supplement their studies by participating in partial training abroad. With the help of the Pannónia Scholarship, you can deepen your professional knowledge in an international environment, broaden your horizons, and build valuable relationships with students from other countries. The programme not only supports you in gaining international experience and expanding your network of contacts, but also ensures real cultural and professional development during a longer period of study abroad.

This long-term study mobility offers an excellent opportunity for doctoral students to gain international experience, expand their research contacts, access specialised research infrastructure, and deepen their professional and language skills. Partial training is carried out at partner institutions for the purpose of earning credits, and applications can be submitted for a minimum of 60 and a maximum of 180 days.

  • Excellence: no specific scoring system; eligibility is based on outstanding academic performance and application to a top-ranked partner university.

Application requirements

  • Active student status during the application and implementation periods
  • at least 1 completed semester before the mobility starts,
  • minimum B2 level complex language exam in the language of the planned studies,
  • a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 or higher at the end of the autumn semester,
  • minimum of 21 credits taken and completed during the mobility period.

Please note that in the Neptun System all eligible institutions are listed regardless of the level of study, so it is important to check the partner list on this website to find out whether a certain institution is assigned to bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral programme. It is important to note that you can only apply for a given place at the level of study indicated in the partner list. For example, if a doctoral student applies for a master’s place, the application will not be considered.

The amount of the scholarship for long-term study mobility can vary between 350,000 and 400,000 forints per month, depending on the destination country. According to the rules of the programme, each month is calculated as 30 days.

Valid applications will be scored based on the following criteria:

The application will be awarded to the applicant who, based on the following criteria, scores at least 20 points for the research plan, at least 10 points for the work plan, and a total of at least 50 points:

Research plan – maximum 40 points

  • The research objectives and expected results of the foreign mobility add professional value to the student’s doctoral studies.

Work plan – maximum 20 points

  • published Q1 or Q2 article 10 points

We also accept official email as letter of acceptance, provided it clearly states the following: 

  • the participant’s name,  
  • the name of the host institution,  
  • the event/training course the student is participating in, 
  • the duration of the mobility. 

A Learning Agreement must be concluded in ALL CASES and for all mobility 

As soon as the student has submitted the signed Learning Agreement and the Grant Agreement to the Doctoral Office, we will initiate the transfer of the scholarship with the finance department, which is due within 30 days 

If the certificate of attendance includes the duration of mobility (start and end dates), then one document is acceptable.

The aim of the Excellence Programme is to enable as many talented, high-achieving Corvinus students as possible to study at internationally recognized partner universities. The Programme helps you broaden your horizons, deepen your professional knowledge, and build international connections that will give you an advantage in your future career.

Under the Pannónia Excellence Programme, Corvinus students can study at partner universities for a minimum of 60 days and a maximum of 180 days to earn credits.

Doctoral students are eligible for Excellence Scholarships if their mobility is directed to a foreign higher education institution ranked in the top 250 in the Times Higher Education or Quacquarelli Symonds international higher education rankings and they meet the following conditions:

  • they have completed at least one semester of their doctoral studies before the start of their mobility,
  • they are active students both during the application and implementation periods,
  • they have a C1 level complex language exam in the language of their planned studies.
  • have a cumulative grade point average of at least 4.5 or higher at the end of the semester specified in the call for applications
  • they earn at least 21 credits during their mobility.

Additional financial support 

Doctoral students participating in the Excellence Programme may receive support to cover tuition, travel, and housing cost in addition to the scholarship, based on actual costs incurred. Invoices and contracts issued in the student’s name must be presented.

A copy of the contract with the accommodation provider/individual, which includes the accommodation costs and the period of use. Proof of payment for accommodation from your own account. The contract concluded with the student on which the payment of the grant is based and the related receipts.
