Short-term study mobility

Quick experience, international perspective!

During short-term mobility abroad, you can give presentations at conferences, lead workshops, participate in study competitions, or earn credits in block courses, summer universities, or study tours. All of this gives you the opportunity to gain international experience and build valuable professional relationships. 

Short-term study mobility is student mobility for study purposes, primarily for the purpose of earning credits, with a minimum duration of 2 days and a maximum duration of 30 days. 

Important informations

Duration: 2–30 days
 
Scholarship: HUF 10,000 – 35,000/day + travel grant for up to 2 days
 
Partner Institutions:
  • Study: with credit recognition: Corvinus partner universities; without credit recognition: any professional institution/conference with active participation
Evaluation: no scoring system; basic requirements include active student status, minimum B2 level language certificate, letter of acceptance, and approval by the Head of the Doctoral School
 
Application: via Neptun, by uploading the required documents (e.g. letter of acceptance, research/work plan, language certificate, academic approval)
 
Next Application Period:
  • Study: June 16 – December 10, 2025, continuous submission, at least 4 weeks before the planned mobility; mobility must be completed by August 31, 2026

  • Planned next application period: Applications for the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year can be submitted continuously from December 2025 to August 1, 2026.
  • Implementation: from February 1 2026 to August 31, 2026. 

Application requirements

  • Active student status at the time of application and implementation; 
  • travel is possible already in the first semester; 
  • Hungarian citizenship, registration certificate or valid residence permit; 
  • students who are not Hungarian citizens and receive Stipendium Hungaricum or Diaspora scholarship may also apply, but in their case, the destination may not be the country of citizenship (country of origin) that entitles them to the scholarship; 
  • a minimum B2 level complex language exam in the working language of the mobility programme applied for; 
  • a Letter of Acceptance from the host institution; 
  • Letter of recommendation of the study programme leader or professor (mandatory template); 
  • in the case of active participation in a conference or professional event, a certificate of acceptance of an abstract or presentation. 

Partners/target countries

Participation in block courses, study tours, and summer university programmes is possible at Corvinus’ partner universities (the list of partners is available on the website) outside the quota. Any subject from any study field at any partner university that fits into the doctoral student’s studies can be chosen. 

 

Participation in academic competitions, giving presentations at conferences or professional events, or leading workshops is possible at any professional institution or organization, not just at partner universities. 

Course selection, credits

In the case of mobility related to credit acceptance, students can take any elective subjects and an unlimited number of credits that can be accepted into their training. 

In the case of mobility without credit acceptance, the activity carried out must be recognized as part of the studies. 

Important informations

The amount of the scholarship depends on the destination country and the duration.  

Students participating in short-term study mobility may receive a living allowance for up to 2 travel days in addition to the duration of mobility, based on the decision of the institution: 1 day before the start of the activity, and 1 day after the end date of the activity. In this case, the supporting documents include also the travel documents certifying the date of travel. 

For short-term study mobility, the programme can provide the following scholarship amounts:

  • 1-10 days: HUF 35,000/day 
  • 11-20 days: HUF 25,000/day 
  • From the 21st day: HUF 15,000/day

  • Transcript of records – for courses with credit value (e.g., block courses or summer university)  
  • Certificate of attendance: for study activities not directly related to credit acquisition, a certificate issued by the host institution/organization (e.g., a certificate of active participation in the case of active conference participation, a certificate in the case of a case study competition, or a certificate of attendance in the absence thereof)  
  • Travel documents confirming the date of travel (e.g., boarding pass, train ticket)

We also accept official email as letter of acceptance, provided it clearly states the following: 

  • the participant’s name,  
  • the name of the host institution,  
  • the event/training course the student is participating in, 
  • the duration of the mobility. 

A Learning Agreement must be concluded in ALL CASES and for all mobility!  

As soon as the student has submitted the signed Learning Agreement and the Grant Agreement to the Doctoral Office, we will initiate the transfer of the scholarship with the finance department, which is due within 30 days 

The travel and other documents required for settlement must be submitted to the Doctoral Office, to Kata Erdős (Building E, office 231, prior arrangement required, email: kata.erdos@uni-corvinus.hu). 

If the certificate of attendance includes the duration of mobility (start and end dates), then one document is acceptable. 

A minimum of one page, the template is available on the website.  

Yes, if you arrive at least one day before the start of the mobility period and your return journey is at least one day after the end of the mobility period.  

For example, if mobility begins on a Monday, travel is also possible on Saturday, or if mobility ends on a Friday, return travel is possible on Sunday, but no allowance is granted for the extra days. If the departure and return dates fall on the first and last days of the mobility period, no travel grant will be provided for those days, as you will receive a scholarship grant for those days. 

Short-term research mobility

Gain international research experience!

While preparing your dissertation, you can achieve scientific results through research abroad in cooperation with the host institution. The aim of the programme is to support the scientific advancement of doctoral students, the acquisition of new knowledge, the production of results, and international research cooperation. 

Short-term research mobility is an excellent opportunity to gain international experience, expand your research network, access specialized research infrastructure, and deepen your professional and language skills. You can gain direct experience in a foreign research environment, participate in international publications, and expand your own and your university’s research portfolio, which will raise the standard of your doctoral dissertation.

Partners/destination countries

Research mobility can be carried out: 

  • at the University’s partner universities (list of partner universities available on the website) 
  • any other company/host institution where the activity carried out can be integrated, corresponds to the curriculum, is acceptable as part of the training program, meets the University’s criteria (Study and Examination Regulations, Annex 2) and is approved by the head of the Doctoral School. 

Please note: The selection of the host research institution is the responsibility of the doctoral student!
