Remote work boosts performance when leaders build a culture based on trust, according to a new study from Corvinus University of Budapest.

A new European initiative, with the participation of Corvinus University of Budapest as Hungary’s sole partner, has been launched to strengthen the spread of Industry 5.0 across Central and Eastern Europe. Industry 5.0 builds on partnership between humans and machines, aiming to advance ethical, sustainable, and people-centred technologies.

Researchers at Corvinus University have developed a comprehensive wildfire forecasting method that identified several fire corridors across the Carpathians. Among the most fire-prone regions are

Quality labels on products work best when they are concrete and easy to understand. Their effectiveness depends not only on the regulations behind them but also on how clear their meaning is to consumers, according to a recent international study involving Corvinus University of Budapest.

The spotlight is back on women data scientists at the Gellért Campus.

The Omnichannel Day serves as a bridge between academia and industry, with the participation of scientific researchers and marketing professionals. This year’s focus is the impact of mobile technology, mobile applications, and augmented reality (AR) on consumer behavior and decisions.

This time the event will be held in Győr, at the Széchenyi István University.

Corvinus University of Budapest supports strengthening the widening approach in future European R&I Framework Programmes to ensure equal opportunities and better inclusion of researchers from all parts of Europe.

CIAS Inn: An important place on the map of science.
This time we introduce Sandor Kristály, who came to us from Transylvania, and works on the theory of optimal mass transportation. Within a few years’ time, we may already see the specific results of the process started by the Corvinus to strengthen international cooperation in research, says Sándor Kristály.
CIAS Research Centre: Focused work takes time.
This time we introduce András Fülöp, who lives in Paris and came back – on a temporary basis – from the ESSEC business school in France to Budapest. Andras Fülöp heard about the transformation and the reforms going on at the Corvinus, and they made him curious, so he immediately wanted to take a closer look at the direction his former alma mater was taking, he told us.
CIAS Inn: A new environment is useful because new routines need to be established.
On this occasion we present Andreas Orland, who worked as a researcher at the University of Potsdam and as head of #PLEx (Potsdam Laboratory for Economic Experiments). “It is simply a great opportunity to focus on research for ten months”, says Andreas Orland from the international research centre of the Corvinus Institute for Advanced Studies (CIAS). Andreas Orland learnt about the opportunity from a teacher at Corvinus.
Our researcher from Zagreb: ‘Budapest is an important academic centre’
‘Opening and establishing international relations is definitely useful’, says Mladen Domazet. The director of the Institute for Political Ecology in Zagreb was happy to apply for admission to the Corvinus Institute for Advanced Studies (#CIAS) international research centre. He has known Budapest for long, as he was involved in a number of scientific projects here, too. He was a member of the organising board of the 5th International No-Growth Conference, and that was when his cooperation with Dr. Alexandra Köves, associate professor of the Corvinus started.

The aim of the Research Management Office is to support the university’s academic community in producing cutting-edge scientific results that advance cultural, scientific, and technological development, enhance Hungary’s competitiveness, and strengthen Corvinus University’s scientific reputation both nationally and internationally.
The Research Management Team supports Corvinus scholars by coordinating various awards and incentives that recognize outstanding research achievements, and by managing an internal funding system that covers the research-related costs of scholars. This includes support for conference participation, workshop organization, publication preparation, access to research databases, and methodological training. The team also supports the work of the Research Ethics Committee and the university’s research centers.
The Centre for Grant and Projects offers comprehensive, end-to-end support services for domestic and international projects. From proposal development, budgeting and submission to project implementation, contracting, financial management and reporting, our dedicated team ensures smooth coordination and expert assistance across all project phases. We contribute to the university’s internationalisation efforts by building and strengthening relationships with funding agencies, universities, international organisations, and other stakeholders, thereby expanding the university’s collaborative network and enhancing its global impact.
Corvinus Liaison Office
Represented by Orsolya Lugmayer, the Corvinus Liaison Office plays a vital role in connecting our research community with key stakeholders in Brussels through UnILiON, the informal network of Brussels-based liaison officers. The liaison officer actively fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing by participating in and organizing events, meetings, and networking activities that bring valuable insights to our researchers. By closely monitoring trends in EU research, development, and innovation policy, the liaison officer ensures that Corvinus remains strategically aligned with the latest European initiatives. Through the promotion of successful examples and best practices, the officer not only informs but also inspires our researchers, helping to build a dynamic, outward-looking, and well-connected research community.
EARMA: European Association of Research Managers and Administrators
Our thriving community supports interdisciplinary collaboration and impactful research. The Corvinus Institute for Advanced Studies (CIAS) is a cornerstone of research excellence at Corvinus University, fostering international collaboration and interdisciplinary dialogue. CIAS offers fellowship programs to international scholars in different categories, bringing together researchers from diverse fields to drive innovation and elevate the university’s global academic impact. Located in the heart of Budapest – one of Europe’s most livable cities – we offer an inspiring environment for academic excellence and fruitful research collaborations.
The Archives of the Corvinus University of Budapest works as a competence centre in the academic organisation of the University: it has been collecting the historical documents of the central offices of the University and its legal predecessors, as well as the documents of its faculties and their organisational units since 1891.
