Celebrating Scientific Excellence at Corvinus
The year 2024 marked an outstanding chapter in the scientific achievements of Corvinus University of Budapest. We celebrated the researchers behind these successes during the Corvinus Research Excellence Day.

On May 22, the university introduced a new event format to honour the work of its most distinguished researchers. As part of the Corvinus Research Excellence Day, we showcased those Corvinus researchers who, through outstanding national and international projects or prestigious awards in the past year, have contributed significantly to the institution’s reputation and legacy. The previous Research Week program was also integrated into this new format, with the afternoon sessions offering an opportunity to present ongoing research at the university.
“In 2024, a record number of our publications appeared in prestigious international journals, reflecting the growing impact and recognition of our scientific work. Numerous research proposals received funding and joined our expanding portfolio of active projects – each one contributing to the advancement of knowledge and to Corvinus’s reputation. We take great pride in the rich and diverse scientific activity taking place at Corvinus, which we are celebrating for the first time through the Corvinus Research Excellence Day. Our aim is to create a platform that highlights the exceptional research of our colleagues and properly acknowledges their achievements – achievements that set an example for future generations. I am confident that our research output will continue to rise in 2025, and I look forward to celebrating even more successes at the next Excellence Day. I hope this event becomes a cherished tradition” – said Tamás Bartus, Vice-Rector for Faculty and Research, at the event.
59 Colleagues Honoured for Research Excellence
As part of this year’s program, the 2025 Corvinus Research Excellence (CKK) Awards were presented to 59 academic and research staff members. The aim of this recognition is to encourage visible and impactful scientific work that enhances the university’s international visibility and contributes to its advancement in global rankings. Additionally, the CKK ‘Ethics, Responsibility, Sustainability (ERS)’ Special Award was once again presented. This distinction is awarded to the recipient who achieves the highest CKK score based on publications in the ERS field. More information about the award can be found on the dedicated subpage.
We sincerely congratulate our colleagues and wish them continued success in their academic and research careers!
