Corvinus to Organise the Social Sciences Section of the 38th OTDK in 2027

In 2027, Corvinus University of Budapest will host the Social Sciences Section of the 38th National Scientific Students' Associations Conference (OTDK). The event will take place on 1–3 April 2027 at the venues of Corvinus University.

On behalf of the university, the organising committee comprises Dr. Viktória Endrődi-Kovács, Managing Chair, Associate Professor (Institute of Global Studies); Zsolt Főző, Managing Secretary, Head of the Talent Management Centre; and Dr. Tamás Bartus, Professor, Vice-Rector for Faculty and Research, Chair of the Social Sciences Disciplinary Committee of the National Council of Student Research Societies (OTDT). The university’s representatives and the OTDT Social Sciences Disciplinary Committee work in close cooperation on the organisation. 

 

The conference is open to students who have obtained OTDK nomination in the institutional rounds held between 2025 and 2027 (following the registration period of the 37th OTDK and preceding the registration date of the 38th OTDK). In line with the regulations, students of both Hungarian and cross-border universities and colleges are eligible to participate. 

 

According to the call, the section comprises eight divisions, or thematic areas: 

 

The final divisions will be determined based on the registrations received. Eligible students may submit and finalise their applications for the conference from 16 November 2026. 

 

Registration period: 16 November 2026 – 13 January 2027 (Wednesday), 4:00 p.m. (CET) 
Conference dates: 1–3 April 2027, at the venue of Corvinus University of Budapest.

For more than 70 years, the OTDK has been the broadest-based form of talent support in Hungarian higher education, operating under the patronage of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the relevant ministries. Its aim is to support students’ scholarly work, talent development and early careers, and to encourage applications to doctoral programmes.
