Registration

Student Support and Counseling group provides support for students with diverse study needs and disability to ensure that they have equal access to activities, and equal opportunity treatment at our University. Our aim is to achieve a full participation and integration.

This support based only on Health Professional’s Report may include: 
  • liaison with academic staff about any potential barriers you may face and any reasonable accommodations that may be required 
  • alternative assessment and examination conditions (extra time, a special venue,specialised technical equipment or furniture) 
  • alternative format course materials (audiofile, large print, electronic text file, etc.)
  • provision of note-takers, scribes or sign language interpreters
  • access to a range of assistive equipment (software, information and communications technology)
  • Library services library assistance
  • Napközi – a place where you can study, relax or connect with others 
  • Mental health therapy treatments and psychological support
  • Career development counseling
  • Learning support

The accomodation you will receive depends on your individual needs. To be eligible for this support, you need to register with the Student Support and Councelling as early as possible. You need to take several steps to prove your eligibility based on a Health Professionals’s Report This report detailing the nature of your disability medical condition that impact on your studies and any recommended adjustments that will minimise the impact of the disability. It is important to contact us to discuss your options and needs.

Registration will take approximately 15 minutes at E.Building, I. floor, 153. room.

– The disability or chronic disease is not listed on your diploma. –
  • partial or full exemptionfrom the performance of practical requirements or performance of same in analternative manner,
  • the substitution of awritten examination by an oral examination or an oral examination by a writtenexamination,
  • exemption from under thelanguage examination or a part or level thereof,
  • providing opportunity forthe use of special tools and equipment necessary for the performance of writtentasks,
  • exemption from theperformance of tasks requiring manual skills, with the condition that theknowledge of theory may be tested,
  • providing a preparationperiod longer than the preparation period determined for students who do nothave any disabilities,
  • ensuring personal assistancein performing institutional administration tasks.

  • partialor full exemption from the performance of practical requirements or performanceof same in an alternative manner,
  • the substitution of a written examination byan oral examination, in case of an oral examination, if the concerned studentrequires it, the provision of a sign language or oral interpreter,
  • exemptionfrom under the language examination or a part or level thereof,
  • with respect toclarity and understanding of the terms of lectures and examinations asimultaneous display of what has been said in writing for the concernedstudent,
  • the provision of tools and visual illustration aids in case of everyexamination,
  • to provide a preparation period longer than the preparation perioddetermined for students who do not have any disabilities,
  • ensuring personalassistance in performing institutional administration tasks, provision ofnotetaking interpreter or a sign language interpreter.
  • partial or full exemptionfrom the performance of practical requirements or performance of same in analternative manner,
  • the substitutionof a written examination by an oral examination, or in case of a writtenexamination the use of special technical tools, 
  • exemption from under the language examination or a part or levelthereof, 
  • exemption from theperformance of tasks requiring manual and or visual skills, with the conditionthat the knowledge of theory may be tested, 
  • access to questions and topics during lectures, examinations andassignments via sound recording device, in a digital form, Braille writing orin a magnified manner,
  • to provide apreparation period longer than the preparation period determined for studentswho do not have any disabilities, 
  • ensuring personal assistance in performing institutional administration tasks.

The benefits which may be provided in case of studentswith the following disabilities (dysphasia , dyslalia , dysphonia , stuttering, gabble , aphasia , nasality , dysarthria , mutism , severe speech perception and speech comprehension disorder, central lisping , delayed speech development) are:
  • thesubstitution of oral examination by a written examination, and in case ofexamination the use of special technical tools,
  •  exemption from under the language examination or a part or levelthereof, 
  •  to provide a preparationperiod longer than the preparation period determined for students who do nothave any disabilities, 
  •  ensuringpersonal assistance in performing institutional administration tasks.
Incase of students with dyslexia, dysgraphia and dysortografie:
  • the substitution of awritten examination by an oral examination or an oral examination by a writtenexamination, 
  • in case of a writtenexamination, the provision of a preparation period longer than the preparationperiod determined for students who do not have any disabilities, 
  • the provision of tools necessary for thetaking of an examination (particularly, computer , typewriter , spelling,vocabulary, dictionary , thesaurus), 
  • exemption from under the language examination or a part or levelthere of
In case of a student withdyscalculia:

  • exemption from theperformance computing tasks, but theors may be tested,
  • the use of all those aideswhich were used earlier by the student in the course of his or her studies(particularly spreadsheets, calculators, configuration, mechanical andmanipulative devices), and longer preparation period;
In case of students with hyperactivity,attention deficit disorder:
  • the substitution of awritten examination by an oral examination or an oral examination by a writtenexamination,
  • to provide apreparation period longer than the preparation period determined for studentswho do not have any disabilities,
  • the student’s waiting period must be reduced to a minimum,
  • use of specialtools and equipment necessary for the performance of written tasks,
  • conducting longer examination in parts, or providing rest period withoutleaving the exam location, or the authorization of mobile activities ortolerating emotional expressions/outbursts, 
  • separate examination separated from the other students,
  • depending on individual needs, in the course of oral examination, at therequest of the student, the questions may be written down or repeated severaltimes, the breaking down of complex questions to partial units, help inclarifying expectations and questions,
  • access to questions and topicsduring lectures, examinations and assignments via sound recording device, in adigital form, 
  • ensuring personal assistancein performing institutional administration tasks.
In case of students with behaviouraldysregulation (disruption of socio-adaptive processes, emotional control, selfor toward others, aggression, anxiety, self-control weakness showingbehavioural characteristics, adaptability, the targeted behaviour,self-organization, and meta cognition different development):
  • the substitution of awritten examination by an oral examination or an oral examination by a writtenexamination,
  • conducting longer examination in parts, or providing restperiod without leaving the exam location, or the authorization of mobileactivities or tolerating emotional expressions/outbursts, 
  • separate examination separated from theother students,
  • in the course of oral examination, at the request of thestudent, the questions may be written down, help in clarifying expectations andquestions, the simplifying and clarifying of questions, and instructions,
  • preparation period longer than the preparation period determined for studentswho do not have any disabilities, 
  • ensuring personal assistance in performing institutional administration tasks.


  • the circumstances of theexamination must be adjusted to the special needs of the student, thesubstitution of a written examination by an oral examination or an oralexamination by a written examination, 
  • provision of assistance in the course of examinations to clarify expectationsand issues, in case of oral examination the simplifying and clarifying ofquestions, and instructions, 
  • preparation period longer than the preparation period determined for studentswho do not have any disabilities, 
  • theuse of special applications during the courses and the examinations (primarilyrecordings, computers, dictionary, other support information and communicationtechnologies,), 
  • exemption from underthe language examination or a part or level thereof, 
  • do to the difficulties arising from thedevelopmental disabilities exemption from certain practical requirements, orappropriate substitution of same by the performance of non-practicaltasks, 
  • ensuring personal assistancein performing institutional administration tasks.
