Assistant Professor – ARH/32/2024

We offer a broad range of undergraduate, graduate, and executive programs in English in the areas of economics, business, and social sciences while attracting international students and faculty.

We are looking for an Assistant Professor to join our Department of Health Policy at The Institute of Social and Political Science.

This post is an opportunity for a candidate with a developing track record of research and teaching in any aspect of the discipline of sociology. The successful candidate will strengthen the international profile of the institute and play a major role in graduate teaching while contributing to our Health Policy Planning and Financing MA program. They will develop the department’s research profile through the production of high-quality peer-reviewed publications, attracting external research funding, recruiting and supervising postgraduate students, and enriching, broadening, and strengthening the academic networks of the institute. Applications are particularly welcome from candidates willing to work collaboratively in teaching and research, within and beyond departmental boundaries.

We welcome applications from those with expertise in any health policy, health economics, or health service research area. We give special consideration to those willing to:

  • participate in the research projects of the Health Policy Department and conduct individual research in health policy analysis and health economic outcome research.
  • initiate, manage and complete innovative research projects (with international cooperation) that can increase the international visibility of the department.
  • teach students about the Health Policy Planning and Financing MA program.
  • engage in service activities within the institute and the university’s community, with a special focus on extending the international professional network of the department and the institute.

While those at an early stage of their career are welcome to apply, they must have a completed PhD at the point of appointment.

The start date of the post is the 1st of September 2024. The post is fixed term for 3 years with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications and experience, essential criteria

  • PhD in a relevant social science discipline
  • strong research and publication profile or potential
  • experience in providing high-quality teaching in the English language

Desirable criteria

  • PhD obtained at a university from the top 200 universities listed in the QS World University Rankings
  • publications in Scimago Q1 journals,
  • experience in managing research projects
  • teaching excellence evidenced by student evaluations
  • evidence of successful course planning, design, and delivery across a range of courses

  • A detailed CV including an up-to-date list of publications.
  • Cover letter, indicating the contribution you would make to research, teaching and service at the department.
  • Samples of two publications.
  • Two letters of recommendation (signed, scanned).
  • A scanned copy of your PhD degree (In case of doctorates obtained abroad, the nostrification will be arranged in the next phase of the selection process.)
