Up to HUF 4 billion a year could be spent hiking in the forests of the Pilis Mountains

A half-day hiking trip in the Pils Biosphere Reserve is worth HUF 2 900, a full-day excursion HUF 5 000 for hikers, according to a study by the Corvinus University of Budapest, which analyses data from 2020. The area offers a value of around HUF 4 billion a year to hikers. The recreational value of all Hungarian forests is about HUF 39 billion, which is one fifth of the market value of the timber harvested annually.

Different subject syllabi, unfair requirements and discrimination

The inquiry revealed a number of irregularities with regard to the process of admission to examinations. The recently concluded scrutiny that had been launched by the university's executive acting in matters of ethics at second instance found that irregularities occurred in five areas. Several students, including the student involved in the ethics case, were not allowed to take a make-up quiz that constituted a condition for admission to the exam, while another student was. Therefore several students suffered discrimination.
