We are saddened to inform all those who knew and loved him that Dr. József Magyari, Associate Professor of the Department of Management and Organization at Corvinus University of Budapest, has passed away as a result of a tragic plane crash.

John A. List is one of the world’s most influential economists, according to RePEc. He held a lecture in Budapest about how social scientists should alter their approach to research design and science communication to achieve real changes in the world. The professor presented three lessons from his career after receiving the John von Neumann Prize of 2022 from the Rajk College for Advanced Studies of Corvinus on April 8, 2024.

The conference and book launch organised by Corvinus on the occasion of the 70th birthday of László Csaba, Professor of Economics, was very well attended.

Since last year, Corvinus business studies and management programme have moved up in the QS world ranking to 251-300th place, still highly the first among Hungarian business programmes, while the only other Hungarian similar programme was ranked 300 places lower. Corvinus also improved its ranking in the broad subject area Social Sciences and Management.

This semester, the swimming team of Corvinus University of Budapest competed for the first time at the 1st Semmelweis International Short Course Swimming Cup. The invitation to the competition gave us the opportunity to represent the University in an otherwise Senior swimming competition, and we hope it will become a tradition.

This year, the time trial race for cyclists was held at the usual location on Szentendre island.

The award for the best MSc-level thesis was received by Diána Nagy (Corvinus University of Budapest, Marketing MSc program) for her thesis entitled 'The cute stars of the internet - The trend of petfluencer pet owners'.

Corvinus has reached another milestone in its internationalisation process. In accordance with the University's language policy, the working language of the Senate will be English from April, but for the time being, interpretation will be provided for non-English speakers on request. The move is key to supporting diversity and ensuring that all university citizens can participate meaningfully and effectively in the life of the institution.
