How Navigator Shaped the Corvinus Community This Year?

The data-driven mentoring and competency development system simultaneously served students’ self-awareness development, the professional community of faculty members, and the university’s innovation efforts.
International and Domestic Recognition
The Navigator program received significant international and domestic attention during the academic year. In the QS Reimagine Education Award 2025 competition, the program ranked among the top 20 percent out of more than 1,600 applicants and was shortlisted.
At the Mentor Oscar Awards, Navigator took second place in the non-profit organizational category. These results demonstrate that Corvinus’s innovation provides a relevant response to the challenges of the future of higher education not only domestically but also on a global scale.
Mentoring Results
Since the program’s launch, a total of 662 mentoring sessions have taken place, 234 of which occurred during the 2025/26 academic year.
Sixty-six students participated in the Mentor+ program, in which mentees were assigned a permanent mentor for an entire semester; of these, 45 were undergraduate students and 21 were graduate students. The participants included 15 international students and 51 Hungarian students.
A total of 161 Mentor+ mentoring sessions took place between mentors and students during the academic year, and an additional 73 individual mentoring sessions occurred outside the Mentor+ program.
The Mentor Community
During the academic year, 63 mentors joined the Navigator program, including 10 international and 53 Hungarian lecturers.
The mentors participated in regular operational meetings and shared their experiences gained during mentoring in case discussions.
One of the program’s greatest strengths is the knowledge-sharing community, in which lecturers are present not only as mentors but also as professional partners to one another.
Competency Tests and Data-Driven Development
To date, students have completed the Navigator competency test a total of 3,012 times, with 761 of those completions occurring during the 2025–26 academic year.
At the beginning of the academic year, the program was expanded to include ten additional master’s programs, and the competency test questionnaire was revalidated.
Data-driven development remains one of Navigator’s most important features.
Integration into education
During the academic year, the Navigator program was integrated into several courses.
Elements of the Navigator were incorporated into the Master’s program in Business Development, the DSG Market Research course, the Career Development course, and the Learning Methods and Personal Skills course.
This helped students experience competency development not as a separate service, but as an integral part of their studies.
Community Presence and Events
Navigator was represented at numerous university events throughout the academic year.
The program was present at the freshman orientation camp, Welcome Week events, Preparation Week programs, the Career & Business Festival, as well as at the undergraduate and graduate open days and the specialization selection expo.
The website redesign and ongoing communication helped further increase Navigator’s visibility within the university community.
Vision
The Navigator team looks forward to welcoming both students and mentors back to the program starting in the fall of 2026.
The goal remains for Corvinus students to make informed decisions about their own development early in their university years and to receive support that aids both their professional and personal journeys.
The evolution of the Navigator mentoring program clearly demonstrates that the future of higher education is increasingly shifting toward personalized learning paths, data-driven support, and community-based mentoring.
Based on the results of the 2025/26 academic year, the program has become a key player in Corvinus’s life, not only as a university service but also as a strategic innovation.
