During the autumn, the university also organizes networking events in several foreign cities. The primary goal of these events is to strengthen Corvinus’ international presence and to connect with alumni living abroad. The first international networking event took place on September 25 in Zurich, with nearly a hundred former Corvinus students living in Switzerland registering, and 74 ultimately attending.

At the Zurich venue, the alumni were welcomed by Rector Bruno van Pottelsberghe, who briefly presented the university’s new strategy: “Corvinus is currently a national champion, but we aim to enter the European league. Our vision is to become visible at the European level soon, and to achieve this, we count heavily on the university’s international advisory board composed of renowned experts, as well as on your support.” The rector also added that Zurich is just the first stop of the international meetings; in the future, the university plans to organize similar networking events in other European citiesincluding Frankfurt, Paris, London, and Brussels.

“In Hungary, only at Corvinus is there a vice-rector specifically appointed for student affairs and responsible for supporting successful student career paths, whose team also works on expanding international career opportunities for Corvinus students,” highlighted Bruno van Pottelsberghe.

The rector also noted that the university is currently in the midst of an important accreditation process, which could significantly enhance its international visibility: “If Corvinus receives EQUIS accreditation next October, we will be able to join the European elite club of triple-crown business schools.”

At the Zurich LOFT FIVE Restaurant & Bar, the attendees were also welcomed by Judit Nagy, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, who briefly introduced the alumni to the updated study programs currently available at Corvinus, and also requested the support of alumni living in Switzerland to help current students expand their international career opportunities.

Following the leadership greetings, the three-hour event continued with informal conversations, attended by former Corvinus students from a wide range of ages and industries. Many expressed their surprise at how many Corvinus alumni live and work in Switzerland. During the event, several alumni proposed establishing a Swiss Corvinus alumni network, which was welcomed by the university leadership, assuring the alumni of the necessary support.
