International Experience in Austria – The Corvinus DSG Three-Day Study Trip

The aim of the trip was to provide participants with first-hand insights into the Austrian business world and international career opportunities. The accompanying lecturers from Corvinus met with Austrian university partners to discuss the soon-to-be-launched DSG specialization with joint courses.

The Corvinus DSG’s three-day study trip to Austria took place from 3 to 6 May 2026, with a total of 14 participants. On the first day, Sunday, the group travelled from Budapest to Vienna. After arrival and check-in at the accommodation, the students visited the Schönbrunn Palace grounds, where a joint walk and informal program offered an opportunity to discover the city’s cultural environment. During the day, an informal networking session also took place: participants met Fröhlich Dóra, an alumna of Corvinus University of Budapest, currently a student at WU Vienna and working in Vienna alongside her studies. Through Dóra’s personal experiences, the group gained valuable, practical insight into the realities of studying and working abroad.

On the second day, the group visited the WU Vienna campus, where Dr. Bernard Böhm gave a presentation on the university’s operations, study programs, and international opportunities. Afterward, the students took part in a guided city tour of Vienna’s historic city centre. In the evening, they joined the Entrepreneurship Avenue Demo Day event, where, under the guidance of Dr. Rudolf Dömötör and Monique Schlömmer, around twenty international teams presented their current start-up projects. The program provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the process of starting a business and the functioning of the Viennese university start-up ecosystem.

On the third day, the study trip continued in Upper Austria, in the cities of Steyr and Linz. At the Logistikum institute of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Prof. Patrick Brandtner gave a professional presentation focusing on current issues in logistics and supply chain management. Afterward, in Linz, the students visited the regional office of the Austrian Economic Chamber, where they gained insight into the region’s economic structure, export activities, and business landscape. The discussions highlighted the economic strength and innovation potential of Upper Austria.

Over the three days, participants were able not only to broaden their professional knowledge but also to gain valuable international experience and shared memories. The visits provided opportunities for professional dialogue, networking, and outlining potential future cooperation.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all organizers, speakers, and partners, as well as to the Pannonia Scholarship Program, whose support made this study trip possible and enabled us to offer such an inspiring experience for all participants.
