HSUP Launches: Corvinus University Remains Among the Leaders

For the past two years, the course HSUP has been available in English, offered across 33 Hungarian higher education institutions. This year marks another milestone: Hungarian students living abroad can now also join the HSUP. Starting this semester, more than 3,000 students from 34 universities and colleges are beginning their studies to learn the fundamentals of innovation through practical experience and to acquire market-relevant entrepreneurial skills.
The number of applications has surpassed previous years’ figures, resulting in a reshuffling of the ranking of institutions delegating the most students. Corvinus University of Budapest has once again achieved outstanding results, with a total of 284 students enrolling in the course—earning the university second place in the national ranking.
The top universities by number of HSUP participants in the 2025 academic year are:
-
Széchenyi István University – 484 students
-
Corvinus University of Budapest – 284 students
-
University of Szeged – 207 students
-
Óbuda University – 176 students
-
Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania – 173 students
Corvinus has consistently remained among the top institutions in terms of HSUP student participation, demonstrating the university’s strong commitment to innovative and entrepreneurship-focused education.
The openness and ambition of Corvinus students are also reflected in their willingness to take the English-language course, available for two years now, and in their active pursuit of international knowledge-sharing and hands-on experience.
Within the program, all participants receive the same support: from the second semester onward, they are eligible for the HSUP scholarship, which this year increased to HUF 65,000 per month. In addition, at the end of the academic year, participants can present their projects at Demo Day, where the most promising teams can win up to HUF 1 million per person to help bring their business ideas to life.
