The professor emerita of the Corvinus University’s Faculty of Social Sciences received the prestigious award from the Presidium of the National Council of Scientific Students’ Associations (OTDT).

The National Council of Scientific Students’ Associations (OTDT) awards the Honoris Causa Pro Scientia Gold Medal every two years, based on a secret ballot, to no more than three outstanding professors, researchers, or public figures who have made exemplary contributions to student research within Hungarian higher education, and who have worked to advance the social and professional recognition of students as well as the teachers and researchers who support and collaborate with them.

This year, Ildikó Hrubos, professor emerita of our university’s Faculty of Social Sciences, also received this prestigious honour from the Presidium of the National Council of Scientific Students’ Associations (OTDT).

Ildikó Rubos previously served as Vice-Rector for Education at the university (2007–2010). Prior to that, she was Vice-Dean and later Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Her work in talent development is multifaceted; however, she has been particularly outstanding in the field of student scientific research. For many years, she supported young talents both as a supervisor and as an organizer. She chaired the Sociology Professional Committee and later became a member of the Presidium of the National Council of Student Scientific Associations (OTDT), serving as Vice President between 2011 and 2016. In this role, she was responsible for the social sciences sections and professional committees, during which she established excellent and forward-looking cooperation with the organizers and committees of the National Student Scientific Conferences (OTDK).

She also contributed to the process of awarding the Pro Sciencia Gold Medal as a member of the Social Sciences Subcommittee of the awarding body, and between 2017 and 2023 she served as a member of the Main Committee.

Her work has previously been recognized on several occasions with prestigious professional awards: the Mestertanár Gold Medal in 1999, the Antal Máriás Memorial Medal in 2011, and in 2019 she received the Lifetime Achievement Award for the Service of Talents, which is granted in recognition of at least 20 years of outstandingly successful and exemplary work in talent development.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations on the Honorary Pro Scientia Gold Medal award and wish her continued success in her future work.
