Corvinus Students Win First Prize at Global Climate Corps Pitch Competition in South Korea
The event was part of a summer school hosted by Korea University and also included a talk from Dr. Tamás Pesuth, Associate Professor at the Institute of Finance.

Two students from Corvinus University of Budapest, Olivér Lukács and Enikő Árpási, were part of the winning team at the final pitch competition of the 2025 Global Climate Corps Summer School, hosted by Korea University, with the support and mentorship of Dr. Tamás Pesuth, Associate Professor at the Institute of Finance.
The program brought together 130 students from 35 top universities across six continents, exploring the theme: “Cross-border Collaboration for the Climate Crisis.” Key topics included urban resilience, CCUS, energy policy, circular economy, food security, and climate education, supported by expert mentoring, workshops, and field visits to leading institutions such as LG Science Park and the Seoul Upcycling Plaza.
In the final pitch, Team 10 won First Prize with their proposal on Sustainability Communication. The team featured students from Korea University, University of Toronto, and Corvinus University.
Dr. Pesuth also contributed to the academic sessions with a research talk on the financial and geopolitical frameworks for climate cooperation, highlighting the strategic role of central banks in green finance.
