Launched by the Hungarian Tourism Association Foundation, the CheckINN Revitalizátor competition aims to encourage university students to rethink opportunities in Hungarian tourism and hospitality. Participants are challenged to design creative, innovative, and feasible development projects that can contribute to the future of the tourism sector. Winning the national competition represents a major professional recognition, as the jury awards the most innovative and impactful ideas.
The Corvinus team took first place with their project Park 4.0, which focuses on the revitalization of the former Lőrinci Rolling Mill, once a major site of Hungarian industry but now abandoned. Their proposal stands out for linking industrial heritage with future-oriented innovation: the area would be transformed into an experience-based, interactive technological and agricultural center serving tourism, education, and the local community. Park 4.0 would feature an Industrial and Agricultural Museum with practice areas, as well as sustainable gastronomy based on “zero-kilometer” ingredients grown on site.
The jury highlighted that the project is not only imaginative and creative, but also highly feasible, as it addresses real social, environmental, and tourism-related needs. Park 4.0 is a strong example of how the young generation can contribute to building a sustainable future with innovative solutions.
The Corvinus community is proud of the students’ achievement, which once again demonstrates that our university’s students can deliver outstanding professional results on a national stage.
They were mentored by Dr. Márk Miskolczi, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Sustainable Development, Department of Tourism.
