Call for applications for study scholarship

2022-02-07 09:38:20

You can apply until 14/02/2022.

In the previous semester, students applying for admission to the Corvinus in the foundation system may have received study scholarships up to HUF 70 thousand.

At the start of the semester, the University announces two calls for applications for study scholarships: if you enrolled before September 2019, you still study in the state education system, so you are subject to the rules defined in legal regulations.

If you started your studies at the Corvinus in September 2019 or after, your scholarship will be financed by the Maecenas Universitatis Corvini Foundation that maintains the University. The process of application and the deadlines are the same in both calls, but the ratio of eligible students and the amounts they can get as scholarship are different.

When and how can you apply?

You can apply for the scholarship at the beginning of each semester, in this semester you can do that between 10:00, 07/02/2022 and 12:00 14/02/2022.

You can submit the applications through the Neptun (under the Administration/Applications menu point). You do not have to submit any certificate, as the system will automatically calculate your scholarship average, i.e. you can submit your application with one click.

Who can apply?

The grant  is available to you if

  • you study in a full-time programme
  • you do not attend a specialisation programme or part-time programme (in a guest student status),
  • you do not attend a preparatory course
  •  you do not pay the cost of your programme from other scholarships (e.g. Stipendium Hungaricum, Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship Programme), and your employer does not assume the cost of your programme

If you attend a bachelor programme or a single-cycle programme, you may apply for the grant from semester 2 of year 1, and if you attend a master programme, the grant is available to you from semester 1 of year 1. The reason why you may apply for the grant from semester 2 only in the bachelor and the single-cycle programmes is that one of the key conditions is to have at least one closed semester. It is also important how you performed – if you wish to win the scholarship:

  • If you enrolled at the Corvinus before September 2019:
A scholarship average of at least 3.0, and at least 23 credit points earned in subjects considered in the scholarship average.
  • If you enrolled at the Corvinus in September 2019 or after:
A scholarship average of at least 3.8, and at least 23 credit points earned in subjects considered in the scholarship average.

In both cases, it is important to know that if you meet the conditions, it does not mean that you automatically get the scholarship, all it means is that you may submit your application, and if you completed a foreign semester, you may submit your application independently of your result.

How do we calculate?

If you enrolled at the Corvinus before September 2019, you are eligible for the scholarship if your scholarship average is better than the median.

If you enrolled in September 2019 or after, we rank the applicants based on their scholarship averages, and the best performing 20% will definitely get the scholarship, but this ratio may be higher.

You can check your scholarship average under the Neptun Studies / Average Academic Performance menu point.

What is the maximum amount you can get?

In the last semester, students studying in the old system received maximum HUF 40 thousand, but in the case of students studying in the foundation system, the maximum possible amount was HUF 70 thousand.

When is it disbursed?

The deadline of assessing the applications is within 30 days of their receipt.  Disbursement takes place until the 10th day of each month.

Make sure that all the data are correct in your Neptun account, as the University pays the scholarship only if you have a HUF bank account on your name, and your tax identification number and permanent address are recorded.
