Our actuarial students’ professional study trip to Vienna

Second-year students of the Actuarial specialization of the MSc in Insurance and Financial Mathematics took part in a two-day professional study trip to Vienna, Austria, in December 2025, supported by the Pannónia Group Scholarship.
Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

The core of the professional program was a visit to Deloitte Vienna’s actuarial department. The students were welcomed by colleagues working there, who introduced the day-to-day tasks of actuarial work, the modeling tools in use, and current challenges facing the profession through presentations and demonstrations. The interactive sessions covered actuarial modeling in a specialized software environment, advanced spreadsheet-based analytical techniques, and potential applications of generative artificial intelligence in actuarial practice. Students received direct answers to their questions based on practical professional experience.

As part of the program, the group also visited the campus of Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien, where they gained insight into the university’s modern infrastructure, educational environment, and the technological solutions supporting its finance-related programs.
