A Reason to Be Proud: László Zsolnai Becomes a Member of The Club of Rome

The Club of Rome, founded in 1968, is an international association dedicated to reflecting on the future of humanity and our shared responsibility. Its members include scientists, economists, business leaders, senior public officials, and current and former heads of state from across the globe. Since July 2025, the Club once again has a Hungarian member: Professor László Zsolnai, head of the Business Ethics Center at Corvinus University of Budapest.

The Club of Rome seeks universal solutions to complex global challenges and supports policy initiatives that can help humanity overcome the crises that pose the greatest threats to our planet. 

Membership is by invitation only. The Club welcomes outstanding scientists, economists, business leaders, and heads of state who have made significant contributions to their field and are committed to advancing the future of humanity. 

Over the years, several Hungarian scholars have been part of The Club of Rome, including Dénes Gábor, József Bognár, János Szentágothai, and Ervin László. In 2025, The Club of Rome invited László Zsolnai, Professor of Business Ethics at Corvinus University of Budapest, to join its ranks. 

László Zsolnai is President of the European SPES Institute and an associate member of Blackfriars Hall, University of Oxford. He has authored more than 35 books and 300 articles exploring the interconnected problems of ethics, business, ecology, and spirituality. His work promotes the development of an economics to serve human and ecological well-being. 

Through The Club of Rome, Professor Zsolnai aims to contribute to projects such as ecological civilization, regenerative business practices, and renewing business educationefforts directed towards creating a fairer and more sustainable world.
