A day of innovation and inspiration – Corvinus master’s students explore the world of business development

On May 20, 2025, business development master’s students joined an all-day event by the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, featuring project management, start-ups, and a visit to the Unicum House.

The morning began with an opening lecture by Marianna Sárvári, a program manager at Deloitte and vice president of the Hungarian Project Management Association, who described the demanding and rewarding nature of the project management field, drawing on her personal experiences. As a continuation of the program, well-known entrepreneurs and investors shared their stories and advice during the Start Your Business event organized in cooperation with AmCham and the Hungarian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association. The founders of Volteum and Kompanion Care shared their experiences about the challenges of startup life, while the investor side was represented by Mary Alcantara (Interactive Ventures), András Fehér (Day One Capital), and Imre Hild (Óbuda Uni Venture Capital).

The professional programs of the morning were followed by a pleasant lunch at the Unicum House, and the Business Development Club student organization led a playful teambuilding program to accompany the coffee. As one of the highlights of the afternoon’s program, participants of the Alumni Mentor Program, both students and mentors, were ceremoniously presented with their certificates. After that, a panel of alumni shared personal narratives about their professional journeys, obstacles, and future goals, providing helpful insight to the current students. Following a tour of the Zwack museum and factory, the participants were treated to a Unicum tasting as a fitting farewell to the experience-rich day.

The event was organized as part of the program of the Youth Business Accelerator Association (IVE). The main supporters of the Association are the Corvinus University of Budapest and the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Nearly 60 students participated in the engaging and diverse programs, returning home with new knowledge, motivation, and as members of a strengthened community.

Next year, we’ll meet again!
