Corvinus wins IFUA Horváth Green Wheel Award

The IFUA Horváth Green Wheel Awards were presented in the corporate and institutional categories at the 38th Budapest Management and Controlling Forum by Irén Márta, Managing Director of the Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary, Eörs Huba, Managing Partner of IFUA Horváth, and Nóra Stancsics, Principal at IFUA Horváth.
In the institutional category, the winning application was submitted by Corvinus University of Budapest. The award was accepted by Katalin Ásványi, Dean for Sustainability at Corvinus University of Budapest. The Corvinus application presented an integrated sustainability governance model that embeds sustainability into the organisation’s entire operation and management system. The aim of the initiative is to ensure that sustainability is not treated as a separate project, but becomes a defining factor at both strategic and decision-making levels.
Key elements of the Corvinus model include measurability, data-driven operations, and the alignment of education, operations and the partner ecosystem. One of its outstanding strengths is its long-term impact, which extends through students to wider segments of the economy and society, shaping economic and social decision-making over the long term. The solution also offers an adaptable model for other complex organisations and demonstrates how sustainability can become a matter of leadership, governance and performance management.
The award winners are entitled to use the IFUA Horváth Green Wheel Award logo for one year. As part of the recognition, they will also receive a living tree, which they will plant together with representatives of IFUA Horváth.
In addition to IFUA Horváth experts, leaders of the Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary also took part in evaluating the applications. IFUA Horváth announced the award in two separate categories: one for companies that achieve direct market and operational impact, and another for institutions that are able to generate indirect, long-term, attitude-shaping impact. This year, the winner in the corporate category was E.ON Hungária Group.
