The volatile energy market prices of recent years and the deteriorating economic environment have placed domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with high energy consumption in a particularly difficult situation, as energy costs represent an increasingly heavy burden for them. For this reason, the REKK Foundation has set the goal of supporting SMEs engaged in the manufacturing of metal processing products in carrying out the necessary energy modernization and achieving decarbonization objectives, thereby enhancing their competitiveness.
Within our research project supported by the European Climate Foundation, we assessed the level of energy savings that can be achieved in the short and medium term at the national economic level, and the associated costs. As part of the research, detailed energy audits were conducted at three companies from the subsectors of metal surface treatment and processing, manufacture of metal structures and building elements, and manufacture of tools and general metal goods, with the involvement of energy experts from Wattmanager Ltd.
We will evaluate our research findings together with representatives of the participating companies and professionals active in the field of energy efficiency.
The workshop can be attended both in person and online. Due to the capacity of the venue, in-person participation is limited to a maximum of 25 people. We primarily expect participants from SMEs active in the metalworking industry, as well as decision-makers involved in the design of support schemes.
Participation is free of charge but subject to prior registration.
