Centre for Education Quality Enhancement and Methodology

The mission of the Centre for Education Quality Enhancement and Methodology is to support the Vice-Rector for Education, the University’s institutes and its teaching staff in ensuring and maintaining high quality in education. The Centre actively contributes to the University’s quality assurance processes, the development of curricula and digital learning materials, and the dissemination of modern pedagogical methods and good practices in higher education.

What we do
We work in three organizational teams to support the University’s education.

The Education Quality Enhancement Team…

  • reviews and coordinates educational quality enhancement activities;
  • formulates short- and long-term professional objectives and quality policies at request of the Vice-Rector for Education;
  • supports the Vice-Rector for Education in the development of the education strategy;
  • supports the Vice-Rector for Education in the operation of the quality management system;
  • collects, manages and analyzes data on the quality of teaching and learning, student progress and student satisfaction;
  • coordinates accreditation processes and supports the preparation of the departments involved in accreditation;
  • operates and continuously improves the University’s learning outcomes measurement system;
  • assists in the compilation of the supervisor’s reports by providing background data;
  • and organizes quality documents and periodically reviews the Quality Manual.

The Teaching Methodology Team…

  • provides the pedagogical background for quality teaching and learning through a learner-centred and learning-centred approach;
  • leads the program development processes from a methodological point of view, ensures the adaptive implementation of the learning outcome-based approach;
  • follows the latest trends and results of research in higher education pedagogy and incorporates relevant methodological innovations into the internal training system to develop the teaching practice of lecturers;
  • conducts research in pedagogy and educational methodology and provides the educational background for research in educational methodology at the university;
  • facilitates the integration of good practices into the teaching-learning processes;
  • supports teaching communities and colleagues at different stages of their teaching careers in their professional development and learning;
  • facilitates and encourages the development and operation of professional learning communities for lecturers;
  • acquaints newly entering lecturers, researchers, and PhD students with the pedagogical principles and values of Corvinus, the specifics of the teaching-learning process, thus helping their onboarding process;
  • helps students to successfully accommodate to the academic learning through courses and mentoring;
  • contributes to the tasks of the Navigátor life path and career planning service, which helps students plan their university life path and monitor their personal development;
  • ensures the scientific supervision of the NOLDUS Behavioural Research Laboratory, provides methodological support for research on the use of NOLDUS software;
  • supports national and international accreditation processes, assists in the operation of quality assurance processes;
  • and provides technical assistance for the development of the Corvinus Teaching Excellence programme and the institutional interpretation of data.

The E-learning Development and Support Team…

  • provides technical and methodological support to lecturers and students through the Moodle helpdesk;
  • assists lecturers in the technical and methodological use of web applications and cloud-based solutions;
  • supports lecturers in the development of digital learning materials and teaching solutions and their integration into e-learning systems and teaching processes;
  • develops e-learning and video learning materials;
  • train lecturers in the use and effective application of Moodle and e-learning technologies (multimedia tools, interactive content creation, and sharing solutions such as H5P, Mentimeter);
  • regularly updates and develops the e-learning system based upon feedback, security developments and international best practices;
  • ensures that all students have access to the e-learning system, Moodle, and cloud software subscribed by the University;
  • assists lecturers in the use of online solutions (e.g. Mentimeter, Kahoot, etc.) to promote in-class collaboration and interaction between students;
  • attends conferences and research projects with the topics of innovation and good practice in educational technology;
  • keeps contacts with the international and national e-learning community, Moodle operators;
  • collaborates with a number of other university departments (e.g. Institutes, Departments, Student Services, Library, Doctoral School, Neptun office, etc.) – in particular the IT Service Centre, which provides the IT background for the work of the team;
  • collects feedback on the e-learning experiences of both staff and students and using this information to improve services.
