PMRC 2027

• Each participant may submit a maximum of two paper proposals (including co-authored individual papers and papers within a panel) and present only once during the conference. The presentation cap does not apply to roundtable or pre-conference workshop participation.  

• Panel, roundtable, and workshop organizers are strongly encouraged to include a broad range of perspectives and approaches in their submissions. Comparative contributions are particularly encouraged.  

• Individual Papers. Traditional research papers. Submissions may be empirical (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods) or theoretical/conceptual. 

• Pre-Formed Panels. Panels should consist of three to four complementary papers and a chair. The submission must name a chair and may include a discussant. Panel chairs should submit the proposal including a panel title and abstract explaining the theme, as well as the participating authors, titles and short abstract of each included paper. Authors of papers included in a panel do not need to submit individually. While the program committee aims to preserve proposed panels, it reserves the right to add individual papers that align with a panel’s topic where necessary. 

• Roundtables. Sessions designed for high-level, interactive discussion of significant and timely issues in public management. Roundtable chairs should submit a title and a description explaining the goals, importance, format (e.g., moderated debate, fishbowl, expert testimonies), and invited speakers, including title and affiliation. 

• Pre-Conference Workshops. Interactive, skills-based sessions on topics such as professional development, methods training, or emerging issues in public management research and education. All workshops will be held on 2 June 2027. A workshop submission must include a title and a description covering objectives, relevance, format and proposed length (e.g., half-day or full day), target audience and ideal number of participants, any logistical or technical needs (e.g., AV, space), and any available sponsorship, if applicable. 

• Author(s) information, including all co-authors or participants. 

• Submission title. 

• Keywords/topics (2–3). 

• Abstract of no more than 400 words, including a clear statement of the topic or research question. 

• Academic references. We encourage the inclusion of foundational references. 

• Submission Deadline –  30 October 2026

• Preliminary Program –  February 2027 

• Final Schedule – April 2027 

• Conference – 3–5 June 2027 (Pre-Conference Workshops: 2 June 2027)
