Corvinus University of Budapest is Hungary’s leading university in the field of economics and social sciences. The Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation announces an open call for applications for the position
of Research Professor for a definite-term employment relationship (until 31 December 2030).
Expected earliest start date: autumn semester 2026/2027.

Job description and basic requirements

  • Teaching duties:
    • Teaching of subjects belonging to the education portfolio of the advertising Institute in weekly class hours as defined by the University’s Academic Career Model.
  • Research duties:
    • Writing articles in prestigious international and domestic journals in the field of innovation policy and management and business economics.
    • Participating at important international and domestic conferences, building international scientific relationships, getting involved in research projects, active research application activity in the field of innovation policy and management and business economics, thus securing the resources of the research projects and contributing to the internationalisation of the Institute and the University.
  • Service duties
    • Active participation in the professional public life of the advertising Institute and the University, performing service tasks determined by the head of the institute.
    • Supporting early-career academics at the university, including supervising PhD students as well as students participating in student competitions.
    • Mentoring assistant professors and associate professor colleagues in the institute.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • holds a PhD degree;
  • has significant research and scientific experience and achievements;
  • teaching-research experience gained in higher education or research experience acquired at a research centre;
  • is an internationally recognised researcher in their branch of science and has an outstanding research record;
  • has outstanding scientific research work;
  • regularly publishes their research results in the most prestigious international journals in their field, issued by high-prestige publishers, in particular, but not exclusively, in English;
  • workshop-creating effect, as evidenced by leading research workshops, achievements in educating future generations of scientists;
  • taking a leading role in solving scientific problems, coordinating and managing the activities of research groups in his/her branch of science;
  • carrying out scientific and science organisation activities; professionally representing their discipline, the University and the country in domestic and/or international scientific engagement activities;
  • through their international recognition, they strengthen the research potential of the university.
  • established experience in academic and research management, with documented capacity for leadership, coordination of staff, and efficient allocation of resources.
  • an h-index of at least 10 and independent citations of at least 300 according to Scopus or equivalent.

Documents and certificates to be submitted as part of the application:

  • Application in English (a single PDF file) that includes
    • a detailed curriculum vitae (CV) with a summary of educational, research and community service achievements;
    • a cover letter explaining the reasons for applying and the contribution the applicant intends to make to the Institute’s work (also specifying gross salary expectations);
    • scanned copies of the documents verifying the university degrees, academic degree (e.g. PhD degree), and of the documents verifying other professional qualifications. (In case of scientific academic degrees obtained abroad, the nostrification will be arranged in the next phase of the selection procedure);
    • up to two publications; this may include working papers, doctoral dissertations, job market papers;
    • at least two professional references
    • results of lecturer’s previous student evaluations;

Remuneration and benefits:

  • favourable conditions regarding research facilities, data access;

  • a competitive salary is accompanied by a maximum of 15% annual performance bonus in case of outstanding performance;
  • one-off relocation allowance for applicants moving to Hungary;
