The conference, organized in cooperation by the Central Bank of Hungary and Corvinus University of Budapest, provided a forum for researchers, policy makers and pacticioners to discuss the financial aspects of transitioning to a sustainable and low-carbon economy, with special regards to the role of central banks. Prof. László Csicsmann, vice-rector of Corvinus University of Budapest, welcomed the conference community. Keynotes were delivered by Prof. Nick Robins of the Grantham Institute, London and Dr. Ulrich Volz, SOAS, University of London. Presentations continued in six thematic sessions. In their reports at the closing plenary, the session chairs emphasized the versatility and high quality of the presentations, which also demonstrated the multidisciplinarity and complexity of the research perspectives. The key conclusion of the conference is that academic knowledge is crucial to greening the financial system.

The event was organized fully online, supported by the Department of Geography, Geoeconomy and Sustainable Development, as well as the MNB Department of the Corvinus University of Budapest. The papers of the conference will be published on the website of the conference.
