Job opportunities

An applied economist can stand his/her ground everywhere where logical thinking, data analysis, problem-solving skills and quantitative competences are necessary. Although 100% of our students continue their studies (there are plenty of masters programs available), professionals who used to be our students work in various areas. Some of them analyse cartel activities for the Hungarian Competition Authority, or provide investment consulting at Raiffeisen Bank, while others work as journalists, insurance product developers, market analysts, project managers, real estate market experts, actuaries, risk analysts, training experts, etc.

The uniqueness of the program

Economic sciences are exciting and USEFUL! It is exciting to look for underlying incentives, to try to squeeze information out of data, to calculate and then find the solution. And it is especially useful to make recommendations for preventing the extinction of fish stocks, to think about the relationship between the government and the market, or to know what lies behind the collapse of the Peso-Dollar exchange rate. When organising the education in the program we had the expressions “exciting” and “USEFUL” in mind as well. The questions and the educational methods used will be exciting, and the concepts, calculations, group works, projects, software and presentations, etc. will be useful.
