CrossFit class features:
CrossFit functional training is performed at high intensity with constant variety. It uses a range of functional training tools, drawing on weightlifting, strength training, gymnastics, and endurance sports. Its goal is to achieve the best possible fitness and maintain physical abilities at the same level.
It is suitable for both beginners and advanced athletes, as it uses a wide range of equipment and exercises are performed both outdoors and in the gym. The training methods include tasks performed with your own body weight or sports equipment in the form of circuit training.
The class is a constantly changing, high-intensity functional training program that maintains physical abilities such as strength, endurance, agility, speed, balance, coordination, and flexibility. The class begins with a mandatory warm-up; in the main part, we perform a variety of movements in circuit training form, aiming for intensity. The cool-down ends with the performance of mandatory exercises.

Athletic movements and methods should also be used in other sports to develop the techniques and skills required for that particular sport. Running as a movement particularly develops endurance and speed. Regular running not only makes us fitter, more resilient, and more persistent, but also recharges us mentally. The cardiovascular system adapts, leading to beneficial physiological changes.
We use running techniques, types, and methods to add variety to our running in a variety of outdoor locations.

Objective: to tailor tennis movements to the individual. The main focus is on mastering the basic strokes (forehand, backhand) and serving and receiving skills. To introduce modern tennis theory and practice, professional methodology principles, procedures, and rules. Learning and using continuous play and the rules of the game. Learning and using modern groundstroke techniques in a playful way. Introducing and practicing serve techniques, introducing and practicing volley techniques. Serve-and-return exercises.
Students who are new to tennis can learn the technical and tactical elements of the sport and the rules of the game through a structured training program. Development of the abilities and skills necessary for tennis movements.
Students who play tennis at a high level (even competitively) are given the opportunity to train with each other in a playful way. If necessary, the teacher/coach will help players with a training plan so that they can carry out structured training sessions and perfect their technical and tactical skills. Each training session begins with a warm-up.
For beginners: Exercises performed in group training sessions under the guidance of a coach, during which students learn tennis techniques and tactics. By the fifth session, players will be able to play with each other. From this point on, in addition to group training, players can freely practice the movements they have learned in group training with each other. During play, the teacher/coach actively observes and, if necessary, actively assists the players’ development with technical and tactical comments.
For advanced groups: Exercises performed in the form of group training without active coaching. We provide students who play tennis at a high level (even competitively) with the opportunity to freely practice tennis techniques and tactics with each other within the framework of planned training, and in some cases to play matches with each other (singles, doubles). . If requested, the teacher/coach actively assists the players’ development with technical and tactical comments.
Each training session ends with a cool-down and stretching session to aid the regeneration of the muscles that have been worked.

During the nature walk, we break away from our urban environment with our students and spend time in the natural environment for the duration of the course. In this course students can learn about the sports – like competitive version of the nature walk, the performance tour, the orientation tour, and the route tracking. The class provides an opportunity to develop orientation skills and improve physical condition.
Our goal is to protect our natural environment while tying to preserve our health through physical activity.
The students complete the classes at various external locations in hiking clothing suitable for the weather and season (hiking shoes, layered clothing, backpack) on distances of 6 – 12 km 4 times out of 5 during the semester.

During the class, students learn the basics of Jujutsu (self-defense) and, if their individual life paths lead them to do so, they can later join the martial arts community as practitioners of the sport.
Objective: to learn the basics of free fighting, to learn how to apply the techniques at a basic level, and to learn how to fight while taking care of their partner’s physical integrity. During the course, students learn simple techniques for striking, kicking, throwing, stretching, and defending, practice defensive and escape maneuvers, and learn and practice different fighting styles.
It is important to learn continuous fighting and to develop the ability to react quickly and appropriately to unexpected situations. The development of special strength and endurance, the development of speed, the confident application of basic techniques, individual and pair exercises, bodyweight and equipment exercises.

The aim of the class is to get students to enjoy the game, learn the rules, and learn the basic strokes and serves. Objective: To learn and accurately perform the basics of Zumba as a fitness dance. To learn the basics of Latin American and Caribbean dances. To learn harmonious movement through choreography. Each class consists of warm-up, strengthening, dance and choreography learning through repetition, and cool-down and stretching. The music and choreography learned are repeated regularly throughout the semester.

Rowing P.E. classes will be held every week on Mondays from 6:00 p.m., with outsourced coaches.
Five sessions are required to obtain a physical education signature. Please sign the attendance sheet, which you can request from the coaches, each time you attend. Signing the attendance sheet is the responsibility of the student in all cases.
Training sessions start at 6:00 p.m., by which time you should be changed so that the sessions can start on time. It is therefore recommended that you arrive 15 minutes before the start of the session. Equipment: Bring clothing that you don’t mind getting wet. Close-fitting, stretchy clothing is preferable. Depending on the weather, it is also advisable to bring longer, warmer clothing. There are changing rooms, lockers, and shower facilities. The training sessions consist of instruction and independent work. No prior training is required for the class, but you must be able to swim in deep water!
A natural environment, exercise that works every muscle in the body, real teamwork. Students receive occasional 90-minute lessons in safe rowing boats, accompanied by motorboat coaches, learning the basics of this famous English university sport. In case of bad weather, training takes place in the gym on ergometers.

Kayak-canoe P.E. classes will be held every week on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m., with outsourced coaches.

A team game played indoors with plastic rackets and balls. During the class, students learn the rules and basic techniques, which they practice after warming up with individual, pair, and group exercises with and without balls, and the class ends with a two-goal game.
Floorball is a ball game and a team sport. The class begins with a warm-up, followed by individual, pair, and group exercises specific to the sport. During this time, students learn the rules of the game, types of shots, and techniques. Each class ends with a floorball game.
Objective: To learn about the sport and the elements of the court and how to use them. To learn and correctly apply the technical and tactical elements of floorball.

The goal is to develop the body’s muscles (strength, speed, endurance) at beginner and advanced levels. Students can learn the technical elements of the sport through systematically structured training sessions. They learn the important criteria for properly planned training, such as choosing the right load, the duration of rest periods, the correct and perfect technical execution of strength exercises, and the acquisition of proper breathing techniques.
The aim of the class is to teach students how to use weight machines, free weights, and cardio machines correctly. It is important to warm up for about 10 minutes at the beginning of the class, followed by appropriate stretching during and at the end of the class to help the muscles recover from the exertion.

Objective: learning training methodology and proper training structure, understanding the effectiveness and use of step pads. The class is based on simple movements, which are performed to music and supplemented with various choreographies. The class includes choreography, endurance training, and fat burning exercises. We progress steadily from simpler basics to more complex step combinations, so that everyone can perform the tasks. The last third of the class is devoted to body shaping and strengthening using your own body weight or equipment. The choreography and strengthening exercises change every week: weekly changing and increasingly difficult choreography and use of step pads.

In our Boulder on the Gellért Campus, we welcome students who are experienced in the world of sports . We first introduce the students of the course tot he vertical world and advise them tod o movement coordination/strenghtening exercises on a weekly basis in order to make climbing an experience in the future. The climbing routes are built from the seame colored ropes, so they are easy for anyone to follow. There are 6 levels of difficulty at your disposal, where everyone can find a challenge of their own. The eight of the walls is 4.5 meters high, we do not use safety equipment, the falls are cushioned by a continuous 40 cm thick special sponge under the walls. In the course, you will learn climbing techniques and training methods directly from the instructors. We provide climbing shoes at the reception (800 Ft/course), clothing should allow you to move freely.

A uniquely designed trampoline, the latest, most effective fitness activity that coordinates the acceleration and deceleration of the body, while being easy on the joints and spine. Jumping aerobic exercises are performed with a custom-designed trampoline that moves the entire body, incorporating stretching, cardio, fat-burning, strengthening, and relaxation elements. It promotes detoxification of the body, develops “motor nervous system” coordination and stability, increases tissue oxygenation, improves digestion, benefits incontinence, increases lung vital capacity, relieves fatigue and menstrual problems, stimulates metabolism while reducing excess weight.

Objective: To learn the basic techniques of modern Latin ballroom dancing. To learn about salsa as a complex form of music and dance, and to understand its rhythmic solutions. To learn basic salsa steps and possible combinations. To learn and practice partner dance techniques. To practice group circle dancing. Isolation and style practice.
Each class consists of: dancer warm-up (and isolation), salsa dance partner work, rhythm exercises, learning 12 dance figures with explanations, practicing in pairs and in a circle, improvisation exercises, cool-down and stretching. Regular repetition of the music and the figures and choreographies learned to it.

The teacher ensures that the teams are evenly matched to ensure that the game is enjoyable for both teams. Objective: To learn the basic techniques and figures of modern Latin American and standard ballroom dances. We will learn the following dances: cha-cha-cha, rumba, samba, jive, mambo, swing, English waltz, Viennese waltz, tango. To learn the musical and dance elements of each dance, as well as their rhythmic solutions. Learning and practicing partner dance techniques. Practicing group formations. Isolation and style practice.
Dances in the first semester in order: cha-cha-cha, rumba, jive, English waltz, Viennese waltz.
Dances in the second semester in order: samba, mambo, swing, tango. There are 3 sessions available to learn each dance. The last session is for summarizing and repeating. The class schedule: dancer warm-up, practicing basic steps alone, partner work, rhythm exercises, learning dance figures with explanations, choreography building, practicing in pairs, improvisation exercises, cool-down and stretching.

The functional training class is conducted in a small group setting, with a variety of equipment and body weight exercises, to dynamic music. No prior training is required, everyone can perform whole-body exercises at their own level in the form of circuit training. Emphasis is placed on strengthening the core muscles, while coordination, mobilization, body awareness and stability are also continuously developed. A variety of equipment such as small dumbbells, fitball, diner cushion, kettlebell, boxing, rubber band or TRX will be used during the exercises to increase the variety of movement. At the end of the class, a wind-down and relaxing stretching session helps to regenerate and relax the muscles. It can be done by beginners and advanced exercisers alike.

The purpose of the course is to strengthen and maintain the spine, and in the case of existing symptoms, to relieve complaints as much as possible with basic gymnastic exercises using gymnastic equipment and your own body weight. With varied mobilization, the entire back muscles can be moved by learning the correct posture. By strengthening and stretching the muscles around the support column, the chance of spinal problems and degenerative changes can be significantly reduced. And if You don’t have much time to exercise, then it’s almost mandatory to exercise, because spinal exercise is a first-rate choise for back pain and its prevention.

Yoga helps counteract the harmful effects of stress and strengthens the immune system. The unusual postures work the nervous system and the exercises increase stamina. Yoga is also exercise, movement therapy, personal development and self-awareness. It relaxes, energizes, detoxifies and strengthens. It helps to shape the body, corrects musculoskeletal problems caused by one-sided posture, and increases flexibility. The yoga exercises are static in nature, the muscle action is primarily isometric. In class, we will perform beginner/intermediate postures, basic exercises such as forward, backward, side bending poses, trunk twists; balance exercises, breathing exercises; hip openings, support postures, seated postures, relaxation exercises; relaxation techniques, meditation exercises. Stretching and stretching elements are also part of the class.

Objective: To learn about TRX as a piece of sports equipment and how to use it. TRX equipment and how it can be set up in different locations, even at home. TRX adjustment options and use in different exercises. After warming up, we perform strengthening, balance, and posture exercises, possibly in pairs or groups, supplemented by the use of other sports equipment (dumbbells, medicine balls, etc.).
You must bring your own towel to the classes! Options for setting up the equipment (at our facility, it can only be mounted on a wall bar). Different exercises based on different starting positions. These can include strengthening, stretching, and balance exercises. Progress from simpler basic exercises to more complex, difficult tasks.

More than 200 competitors from 18 universities entered the competition.

On 21 November 2025, the first sitting volleyball MEFOB was held, organized by BGE.


Twice a year, the Physical Education and Sports Center and the Student Union jointly organize this now traditional event, once again at the beautifully renovated Gellért Campus.
