In order to increase the intensity and effectiveness of learning, the free language lessons may be supplemented by an additional one, fee-paying language lesson per week for certain languages.

The standard credit value for free language courses is 3 credits per semester. Additional language courses may be taken for “0” credits.

The course fees are determined by Corvinus’s ’Regulations on course fees’ and are currently set at HUF 20.000 per term for courses in English and German. Other languages have a regressive payment scheme:

  • three slots per week – HUF 48.000
  • four slots per week – HUF 56.000

The completion of “Foreign Language Competence I.” course is compulsory, without which the student will not be able to obtain a diploma and will therefore not be admitted to the final examination. This criterion course does not provide language education, but assesses linguistic competence during the examination period. The completion of the language criterion is governed by the Study and Examination Regulations. There are several ways of substituting for foreign language competence I.
