December marked the conclusion of another term of our Foundations of Public Policy course, organized jointly with KDSZ – Public Policy Students’ Organisation (KDSZ – Közpolitikai Diákszervezet).
Course participants were introduced to the tools and processes of public policy, and the theories and methods of understanding policy change. We also discussed several case studies which enabled them to look into the worlds of policy analysis and academic research for public policy decisions.

This year’s themes:

  1. What is public policy? (with professor György Hajnal, Head of the Institute for Economic and Public Policy)
  2. Public policy change. Theory, measurement, case studies (with associate professor Attila Bartha, Program leader of MSc in Public Policy and Management, Institute for Economic and Public Policy)
  3. Empirical research for public policy purposes: the cost of mental health issues & the factors behind compliance with mask mandates (with assistant lecturer Gábor Tamás Molnár, Program coordinator of MSc in Public Policy and Management, Institute for Economic and Public Policy)
We would like to thank KDSZ for the organisation and its members for their active participation which makes this course possible. We are looking forward to cooperating in 2022.
