Record Interest as This Year’s International Project Manager Postgraduate Programme Kicks Off at Corvinus

Project management is a relatively young profession, but it has become indispensable in every industry: it makes tasks transparent, helps prevent mistakes, uses resources efficiently, ensures quality, and coordinates teamwork. Its history goes back only to the mid-20th century, even though humanity has always managed large undertakings in some form – such as building pyramids or railways.
This year, interest in admission has been higher than ever before: nearly 50 professionals applied, of whom 28 earned the opportunity to join one of Hungary’s most recognised, internationally focused project management programmes.
Launched in 2021, the Corvinus-PMI programme has quickly established itself as a leading postgraduate course in Hungary. The start of the sixth cohort this year clearly shows that there is now a strategic demand in Hungary for international-standard project management training – whether among professionals with backgrounds in IT, finance, engineering, law or management.
Excellence and Global Standards
A key strength of the Corvinus-PMI programme is that it is delivered in English and based on the latest international standards – including the PMI PMBOK Guide – offering participants a comprehensive body of knowledge. From core principles to the most up-to-date project management techniques, participants gain the skills needed to confidently lead projects of any complexity – from multinational IT developments to infrastructure investments or software projects.
“When we launched the programme, our goal was to create Hungary’s most high-level and attractive project management programme. This year’s cohort proves once again how much demand there is for this knowledge – we have never had to rank so many applicants, and the student community has never been this diverse,” highlighted Programme Director Bálint Blaskovics.
One of the programme’s greatest strengths is that its instructors are recognised, practising project managers who bring real industry experience into the classroom.
“Our goal remains unchanged: to train professionals who not only understand project management in theory but also possess practical skills that can be applied immediately. With this diploma, graduates deliver immediate added value in their workplace – whether at a large corporation or an agile, fast-growing SME,” emphasised László Kremmer, former President of PMI Budapest and co-founder of the programme.
For the Next Generation of International Project Leaders
The one-year programme is open to all professionals who wish to improve their project management skills – whether they hold formal qualifications or bring relevant experience from the field. Its aim is to systematise existing knowledge, build confidence, and develop competencies that make participants competitive in a global environment.
