The Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe (NISPAcee) is the leading scholarly organisation in the fields of public policy, public administration, and public management in the region. Each year, the organisation presents its Best PhD Thesis Award to the author of the most outstanding doctoral dissertation defended in the field.

The 2026 award was presented to Hajnal Áron, whose doctoral research was supervised by Dr. Attila Bartha. The Award Committee was chaired by Professor Guy B. Peters (University of Chicago), with Professor Primoz Pevcin (University of Ljubljana) and Professor Veronica Junjan (University of Twente) serving as members.

This marks the third time in the past five years that a researcher affiliated with the Department of Public Policy of Corvinus has received this distinction. Previous recipients include Zoltán Török and Iga Jeziorska.

The award reflects the high quality of doctoral training and supervision at the department. Notably, all three recipients affiliated with the department are alumni of Corvinus University’s MSc in Public Policy and Management programme
