What is Mentimeter?

An easy-to-use, browser-based tool for live polls, surveys, word clouds, and quizzes, it works great for lectures, seminars, workshops, and institutional events. Mentimeter works particularly well in large lecture settings, as it provides a simple and effective way to engage participants.

What is it good for?

  • Live student and participant engagement (polls, Q&A, word clouds)

  • Instant feedback and knowledge testing (quiz)

  • Dynamic, visually appealing presentations

Who is it for?

All instructors, university staff, and students are all eligible for access.

What do instructors say?

What student reactions do instructors notice?

  • “Positive: they like it more than Kahoot :)”

  • “My impression is that they enjoy it, especially when I use the ‘extra’ features and include entertaining questions (for example choosing between GIFs or using Pin on Image – these are big favourites).”

  • “I can see that students also like to use it in their own presentations as a way to introduce interaction or kick-start discussion.”
