Autumn Semester Begins in the Teach for Hungary Mentoring Program

The autumn semester has begun in the Teach for Hungary Mentoring Program at Corvinus University of Budapest. This semester, 21 university mentors support 81 primary school students, building meaningful relationships through regular meetings and shared experiences.

The autumn semester of the 2026/2027 academic year has officially started in the Teach for Hungary (Tanítsunk Magyarországért) Mentoring Program at Corvinus University of Budapest. Alongside the launch of the TM I preparatory courses, mentors also participated in a mentoring camp designed to support their professional preparation, facilitate the exchange of experiences, and strengthen the mentor community.

This semester, the program brings together 21 university mentors who provide guidance and support to 81 primary school students. The mentor team includes several experienced participants, with some mentors beginning their fifth semester in the program, contributing valuable knowledge, continuity, and best practices to the mentoring community.

During the first weeks of the semester, mentors visited two partner schools as part of the program’s autumn orientation and experience days. In Üllő, the Corvinus team is beginning its third consecutive semester of cooperation, where returning mentors were warmly welcomed by enthusiastic students. In Gyál, the collaboration also continued successfully, allowing mentors to reconnect with students they have supported for several years while also meeting a new class joining the program for the first time.

These experience days play an important role in building and strengthening mentor-student relationships. Through shared activities and informal interactions, participants have the opportunity to get to know each other better and establish a strong foundation for the semester ahead.

Throughout the academic term, mentors will meet with their mentees on a weekly basis, supporting their educational development, career orientation, and personal growth. The program continues to aim at broadening young people’s horizons, increasing their awareness of educational and career opportunities, and helping them make informed decisions about their future.

As the new semester gets underway, both mentors and mentees look forward to another engaging and enriching period marked by learning, discovery, and the development of meaningful long-term relationships.
