Corvinus hosts AMBA & BGA Global Deans and Directors Conference 2024

Corvinus University of Budapest strenghtened its international standing by hosting the prestigious AMBA & BGA Global Deans and Directors Conference 2024. This international event, held between 12-15 May at the InterContinental Budapest, brought together leading specialists in business education to discuss trends and innovations shaping the field.

Corvinus University of Budapest was honoured to welcome expert speakers, leading corporate organisations and business schools from around the world as the host institution of the conference. Speakers included deans from prominent institutions and CEOs presenting on the issues most prevalent to business school strategy. 

The Association of MBAs & Business Graduates Association (AMBA & BGA), based in London, is an international membership and quality assurance organization for top-tier and high-potential business schools, encompassing a network of over 460 institutions globally. Corvinus University of Budapest, accredited by AMBA since 2020 for its MBA programmes, is the sole Hungarian university with this distinction and is proud to be ranked among the top 2% of business schools worldwide. 

At present Corvinus offers two MBA programmes conducted in English. 

Full-Time MBA 

The Full-time MBA aims to guide students through a transformative experience at the early-middle stage of their professional careers. The two-year programme is suited to professionals prepared to take a career break or work part-time in Budapest. 

Executive MBA 

The Executive MBA programme is a collaborative dual degree programme with Maastricht University and SEED Executive school as an associate partner. It is a transformational programme that gives the tools to become an effective and responsible leader thriving in a complex international business environment. It is offered for senior professionals with managerial experience. Applications for this year’s programme are underway and open until 6 September (apply here). 

The conference provided Corvinus with a platform to showcase its educational offerings in a dedicated exhibition space alongside sponsors and exhibitors. Conference delegates had the opportunity to meet Corvinus colleagues, who were ready to address question about the university’s programmes in business, economics, and social sciences as well as the research opportunities connected to Corvinus Institute for Advanced Studies (CIAS). 

Corvinus University’s involvement at the conference extended well beyond the exhibition space. On the last day of the conference Dr. Péter Fehér, Vice President for International Relations, delivered a presentation titled “Beyond Comfort Zones: Preparing MBA Students for Unforeseen Technological Disruptions.” Faculty members in key leadership roles also attended the conference including Ákos Varga, Dean of Postgraduate and Executive Programs, Miklós Kozma, Full-time MBA Programme Director, Andrea Toarniczky, Executive MBA Programme Director and Zoltán Búzády, Associate Professor of Leadership, Academic Director, Leadership & Flow Global Research Network.
