What Does an Orderly Green Transition Look Like? – Questions of Competitiveness and Growth

Date: 10 March 2026, 16:00
Location: Corvinus University of Budapest, Building E, Faculty Club
Language of the event: Hungarian
The green transition shaping our era is not only a matter of climate policy but also a question of economic competitiveness. The process directly affects industrial structures, energy prices, security of supply, and the prospects for economic growth.
This is why an “orderly” transition is needed—one in which climate goals, economic growth, and industrial competitiveness are not in conflict but aligned within a coherent strategic framework. The key question is not whether a transition is necessary, but at what pace, with which policy tools, and with what economic consequences it will be implemented.
Green transition – but at what cost? Competitiveness – under what conditions? Growth – in what structure? These are among the questions that the panel participants will address:
- Csaba Gondola, State Secretary responsible for the circular economy and climate policy
- Zoltán Pogátsa, Economist, Associate Professor at the University of Sopron
Participation is free of charge but requires prior registration here.
The event is open to the press.
