Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

Date: 21 November 2025, 10:00-15:30

Location: Faculty Club

The project, funded by the NKFIH Scientific Patronage Program, has been led over the past year by Dorottya Mendly, colleague of the Institute of Global Studies. Within this science communication and citizen science support framework, the team strengthened the communication and participatory pillars of the OTKA Young Researcher Project titled “Increasing Resilience through Bioregional Planning in the Sand Ridge”.

The grant provided an opportunity to communicate the research’s key concepts, interconnections, and preliminary results through a variety of formats. Blog posts published on the website and other platforms of the project’s civil partner, the Hungarian Permaculture Association, as well as on the project’s Facebook page, discussed topics related to transforming the food system of the Sand Ridge in an accessible language.

In addition, the project produced an interactive map showcasing participants in Hungary’s alternative food network, a story map presenting the history of this network, and two documentaries. One of these (Ecological Transition of Small-Scale Farms in the Sand Ridge) is already available to the general public, while the other (Sustainable Land-Use Solutions in the Sand Ridge) will premiere at the closing event alongside other project results. The program will also include a panel discussion addressing the challenges of the Sand Ridge as well as interactive workshops.

All interested participants are warmly welcome. Further information about the event can be followed on Facebook.
