ERASMUS+ Partial training

The Socrates program, known as the European Union’s education support program, has continued since 2007 under the Lifelong Learning Program. It had four sub-programs: Comenius (public education), Erasmus (higher education), Leonardo (vocational training, except at tertiary level) and Grundtvig (adult education). These support programs and the youth and sports programs have been merged by the European Union under the Erasmus + program, which will start in 2014.

The choice of name is not a coincidence, as Erasmus is considered one of the most successful projects in the EU. Interestingly, the American magazine TIME ranked Erasmus among the 20 most significant achievements of the European Union on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Rome Convention.

The higher education component of Erasmus + promotes activities such as student mobility, teacher mobility, mobility of other staff in higher education institutions, multilateral international projects, etc.

The objective is to provide the students of the CUB – who are eligible to apply for participation in the Erasmus programme – with the possibility of attending an Erasmus foreign partial training, and to provide the related financial support (Erasmus scholarship) in the academic year of 2023/2024.

What do we mean by partial training?

By partial training we mean a foreign training of one, maximum two semesters. In the framework of the partial training mobility, you may spend minimum 3 and maximum 12 months abroad within one training cycle (which includes both the foreign training mobility and the time of the internship abroad). In the case of undivided Master’s programmes of 10-12 semesters, the available mobility frame is 24 months.

During your training, you may not exceed the 12-month mobility, but if you change for another training level, you will have the 1 year of foreign mobility available to you again, and you might as well combine it with a foreign internship. In the Mobility Manager you can check the countries and the topics in which the university has partner relations.

The following students can apply for additional support:

  • Disabled and permanently ill students
  • Socially disadvantaged students
