About

The Institute of Communication and Sociology mainly focuses on the sentient and proactive person, and the social responsibility in its education and research programme. The course plans are farseeing and they prepare for the skills used in the future.

Our Communication and Media Science Programme provides competitive knowledge in the field of corporate, public and international communication with eminent experts of the discipline, involving economic expertise, psychological knowledge, and a professional media studio.

Uniquely in Hungary, after gaining their bachelor’s degree, students may continue studying by enrolling in a master’s degree programme as a second, and a doctoral programme as a third academic qualification at the same university.

Sociology students receive extensive education in social sciences, and they acquire both up-to-date theoretical and methodological knowledge that can later be applied in practice. The opportunity is provided both for undergraduate and for graduate students to engage in Hungarian and international research projects led by the Institute.

Our Psychology and Behavioural Sciences Department provides valuable additional knowledge and attitude in the fields of behavioural psychology, social psychology and work psychology.

The courses related to Social Sciences provided by the Corvinus University of Budapest are always at the fore front of significant university rankings in Hungary. Our courses are at the top of the sub-ranking lists drawn up on the basis of student excellence. Our lecturers are well-known and professionally reputed members of the Hungarian scientific and professional public life. The Institute offers a number of appealing scholarships, research opportunities and competitions for students. The Institute of Communication and Sociology was set up on February 1st 2020 by merging the Institute of Behavioural Science and Communication Theory, and the Institute of Sociology and Social Policy.
