The Karl Polányi Center for Global Social Studies and the Department for International Relations kindly invites you to the following book launch and roundtable discussion:

Michela Ceccorulli · Enrico Fassi · Sonia Lucarelli (Eds)
The EU Migration System of Governance. Justice on the Move.

book

Published by Palgrave Macmillan, 2021.
The book is the result of a collective research project conducted in the framework of the Horizon 2020 Research Project GLOBUS—Reconsidering European Contributions to Global Justice. It explores the norms, practices, and main actors in the EU Migration System of Governance, bringing a fresh perspective to the analysis of asylum and migration in Europe. The volume unpacks the European Union’s approach to migration and points to the principles and actions of EU member states. Moreover, it explores the EUMSG’s performance through the lenses of three alternative yet coexistent understandings of justice (non-domination, impartiality, and mutual recognition), thereby overcoming a unilateral ethical viewpoint and moving away from the ‘open-closed borders’ debate.

Introducing the book:
Michela Ceccorulli, Enrico Fassi, Sonia Lucarelli – editors
This will be followed by a roundtable discussion and a Q&A session with reflections on justice and migration from a global perspective.
