Welcome Week – The Start of Your University Journey

This year’s Welcome Week brought together first-year Corvinus students to help them prepare for the university years ahead. More than 1,800 students completed their enrolment digitally (application via felvi.hu), while those who chose to complete the process in person could do so at the university by booking an appointment in advance. In the mornings, students could attend information sessions led by programme directors, where they learned more about their programmes and received useful information about their studies. 

The week was, of course, about much more than administrative tasks. It also gave students the opportunity to discover the many possibilities offered by the university. In addition to the Campus Walk and tours organised by the University Library, a variety of programmes awaited students at the Gellért Campus. Different university units introduced their services, while meetings with strategic partners gave students a better understanding of the connections between university education and the world of work. First-year students could also meet Corvinus student organisations, learn more about their activities, and take part in sports programmes and presentations. Practical administration was also made easier by the government service bus, where students could handle certain official document-related matters on campus. 

Preparation for university life had already begun before Welcome Week. This year, we took a more structured and student-centred approach to the pre-onboarding process, tailoring our communication more closely to the needs of our future students. As part of this targeted communication, students could join webinars from early June covering topics such as dormitories and housing, the regular grant based on social needs, using Neptun and enrolment. Nearly 1,000 students took part in the webinars.
