The Home Lab team from Corvinus won the national finals of the 10th Danube Cup startup competition

A total of 8 teams, out of 24 representing 3 universities, qualified: Corvinus University of Budapest, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, and Széchenyi István University of Győr. The event aimed to provide young, innovative-minded students with an opportunity to present their ideas, receive professional feedback, and build connections.
The Danube Cup is an international startup competition for university students, jointly organised by leading higher education institutions in the Danube region with the professional support of the Youth Enterprise Support Society (IVE).
This year’s national final was opened with a welcome speech by Bruno van Pottelsberghe, Rector of Corvinus. The jury members were: Ildikó Csejtei, Executive Director of the OTP Fáy Foundation; Máté Varga, Group Leader for Emerging Technologies at 77Elektronika Ltd.; and Mónika Harsányi, Head of the International Project Office at the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
All 8 teams presented their business ideas and implementation concepts in 4-minute pitches. Following a close decision by the jury, the following teams were awarded prizes: 1. Home Lab (Corvinus), 2. SkillsPals (SZE), 3. TraceQ (Corvinus). The jury also selected two additional teams to advance to the international finals in Vienna: OrthoShower (BME) and CoBoarding (BME).
The three winning teams also received cash prizes donated by Corvinus, the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the OTP Fáy Foundation, and 77Elektronika Ltd., all of whom have supported the high-quality organisation of the competition for several years.
The first-place team received 500,000 HUF, the second-place team 300,000 HUF, and the third-place team 200,000 HUF, and they advanced to the international semifinals, where they will compete for a spot in the Vienna finals on 18th May.
The event once again highlighted that the Danube Cup goes far beyond the scope of a traditional competition: it is an inspiring meeting place where innovative ideas take shape as real opportunities, and where the entrepreneurs of the future can take their first, decisive steps toward the international startup world.
Congratulations to the winning teams, and we wish you the best of luck as you advance to the finals in Vienna!
