The CEO of the BioTechUSA Group Was a Guest in the Corvinus Strategic Management Course

On 05 December 2025, Bálint Lévai, CEO and co-owner of BioTechUSA, visited the final session of the Strategic Management course offered within the engineering, medical, legal and pharmaceutical economics specializations.
Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

Students had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the success story and strategy of the Hungarian-owned company.

Bálint took over the management of the family business more than ten years ago. At that time, the company employed 120 people and had revenues of around 7 billion forints. Since then, BioTechUSA has undergone dynamic growth: today nearly 2,000 people work at the company, and last year its revenue approached 100 billion forints, a threshold it is expected to surpass this year.

In his conversation with the course instructor, György Drótos, topics included the secrets of rapid growth, the competitive factors of the dietary supplement market, and the strategic role of the company’s three key brands – BioTechUSA, Scitec Nutrition and Builder. Bálint Lévai highlighted the importance of in-house manufacturing capacity and strict quality assurance and presented the steps of international expansion: the group is now present in 104 countries, with 49 webshops, 330 stores, 4,500 B2B partners and 2,000 products. Eighty percent of its revenue comes from export activities.

Students also learned that BioTechUSA is not only a major player in protein-based products but also in the broader health and sports supplement market, such as the European shaker market. The company operates in a fully digital and data-driven manner, enabling annual plans to be created almost at the push of a button. Influencers and gyms play a key role in brand building, while the opening of new own-brand stores continues as part of the omnichannel strategy. Production at the newly inaugurated protein-bar factory in Szada is now ramping up; this is particularly important because the technology of this production line is unique at the European level, providing a significant competitive advantage for the Hungarian group.

Bálint Lévai emphasized that success, especially in international markets, is not driven by a single major innovation but by persistent, systematic development. At the end of the discussion, he revealed that he is also considering launching a new venture with a completely different profile in the future.
