Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

What is DSG?

The DSG at Corvinus University of Budapest has been offering business courses in German for more than three decades, in close cooperation with the University of Passau. Many renowned Hungarian and German lecturers teach in the programme, including professors from the University of Passau. This means that students receive high-quality, internationally recognised education while gaining valuable international perspectives.

You can complete some of your regular business courses in German and earn the same credits towards your degree. You can also work towards a DSG certificate: after completing four DSG courses, you receive a “small certificate”, while completing ten courses earns you the DSG certificate.

Within DSG, you can take compulsory business courses in German that you would otherwise have to complete in Hungarian or English – such as Allgemeine Betriebswirtschaftslehre (Business Economics), Investition und Finanzierung (Corporate Finance) or Marketing. If you complete these courses in German, they fully count towards your curriculum requirements, you earn the same credits, and you do not need to take the same course twice.

More than just studying

Beyond courses, DSG offers a wide range of professional and community activities. You can take part in the traditional Studienreise and travel to the picturesque city of Passau, known as the “city of three rivers”, or visit WU Vienna – Vienna University of Economics and Business. You can even spend a semester studying in Germany with a DAAD scholarship.

DSG is for you if:

✓ you have been admitted to a Bachelor’s programme at Corvinus;

✓ you have at least B2-level German language skills;

✓ you would like to study business subjects in German.

German language skills can be a valuable asset if you want to build an international career. Germany, Austria and Switzerland remain key economic partners of Hungary, making German language skills and the related professional knowledge valuable on both the Hungarian and international job market.
