Students can apply for the preparation courses organised by the Corvinus student organisation in two simple online steps. First, they need to complete an application form, and then complete a placement test in their chosen subjects so that they can be assigned to a group that best matches their level. The application form, available on the Studium Generale (SG) website and Facebook page, must be submitted by 30 September, while the placement test can only be completed on 3 October. Those who miss the first application round will have another opportunity to join the courses through late registration from November. Places on the weekend courses are limited, so students are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Applications can also be submitted as a group. The online learning platform is available on the SG website. 

According to a survey conducted by the organisers last year, more than 98% of the nearly 300 SG students who responded continued their studies in higher education, and 72% were admitted to the university they had listed as their first choice. 

“This year, for the 57th time, Studium Generale is once again launching its series of school-leaving exam preparation courses. We are just as enthusiastic as ever to welcome final-year secondary school students who want to take an active role in preparing for successful further studies and shaping their own future,” said Márton Cserépy, President of Studium Generale. He added that the primary goal of the Corvinus student volunteers is to help every participant gain admission to the university they aspire to attend. 

The volunteer Corvinus student tutors were themselves secondary school graduates not long ago, so they are very familiar with the challenges and expectations associated with the exams. Studium Generale is the official school-leaving exam preparation organisation of Corvinus University of Budapest and has been supporting secondary school students for more than half a century, since 1970. Operating as a foundation, the organisation’s mission is to promote equal opportunities in education and social responsibility. Its volunteer university students provide free preparation for higher and standard level school-leaving exams in mathematics and history, as well as for the finance and accounting administrator exam, offering substantial support to students in Years 11 and 12. 

In addition to the Saturday preparation courses beginning in October, the student organisation also offers further free programmes during the academic year, primarily for students participating in SG courses. At the mock school-leaving exam in November for SG students and the open mock exam in February, which is available to everyone, participants can assess their knowledge in a low-pressure setting. Additional development courses also help students with areas such as history essay writing and preparation for oral exams. A few weeks before the school-leaving exams, the Marathons programme helps students revise and consolidate what they have learned in all three subjects. Students can also prepare intensively in small groups with their peers at the internal spring exam preparation camp and at the summer camp, which is also open to Year 11 students who are not yet part of SG.
