Saying Yes to Opportunities – Alumni Stories with Noémi Kreif

Noémi Kreif has lived abroad for twenty years. Her journey took her from Budapest to London and later to the United States. Looking back, she believes that it was not one major decision, but a series of small, interconnected choices that led her to an international research career.
When she was admitted to Corvinus, she was primarily looking for a community, which led her to the Rajk College for Advanced Studies. There, she found her closest friends, with whom she has maintained strong ties ever since. By the end of her university years, they had become an important source of inspiration, as they began exploring opportunities for doctoral studies abroad together.
A two-year, part-time research assistant position brought her to London, where she worked on health research projects. She subsequently pursued her doctoral studies in the United Kingdom. During her PhD, her research focus gradually took shape: she specializes in evaluating the impact of healthcare programmes, policies and treatments. She currently works as both a researcher and a lecturer at the University of Washington.
